You press X to open the command menu and then the shoulder buttons to cycle through your three party presets.

I knew it was something like that! I might actually start mixing up my party members more as a result - been very much an "OG Avalanche Crew" main with Barret, Cloud and Tifa so far :datass:

Its really not intuitive at all.

Entered niebelheim after spending some time clearing out the regional intel. Been taking it very very slowly, but will probably finish it in the weekend.

Ah cheers for this. I’ve put FFVII Rebirth on hold and try to platinum the Remake. A practice of sorts for finishing the game on hard.

Been playing since Monday.

I'm struggling a lot with the complexity. Just as in Remake the combat feels very messy and I just can't prevent myself from taking damage. I die a lot. Also the whole Materi game I just don't get I need a much simplified version. Despite that I'm still enjoying it a lot. I'm surprised how clumsy a lot of it is for a massive AAA game though.

Also I don't really know what I'm doing. I just got to Junon? And I'm not sure what my characters motivations are, the start of the game was really weird.

Finally plat'ed Final Fantasy VII remake and there are several factors that put me off from attempting Rebirth.

I am totally shite at the piano mini game. I can't focus on two different parts of the screen for the inputs while it's too fast. I keep switching to the one side and end up missing the other side. Plus I completed the game clocking in at nearly 100 hours and I don't fancy grinding for at least another 100 hours or more so soon after finishing it.

Out of curiosity, did you ever play ff7 or remake? As I was always curious to see how difficult newcomers would find it to understand the storyline

Just finished InterMission DLC on Remake.

The final boss is pure nasty and I hope Yuffie get a resolution in Part 3.

I played Remake. I mostly understand the Shinra stuff but it's everything with Sephiroth that just seems unclear.

I do feel like this regarding some parts of the game. But I understood Sephiroth's motivations and Jehova, and it was explained later on in the game, nearly at the end.

But I'm very cold and confused on the multiverse bullshit.

Just finished. Loved basically all of it.

Only 3 things I didn't:

I have no idea who the heck the guy who keeps talking to Rufus is, it's a weird subplot that just randomly appears every 15 hours and expects you to care

Cid and Vincent are handled really poorly, they're the very definition of "just happy to be there" it's like they purposefully withheld them from scenes where they'd make sense, especially Vincent considering his motivation for joining the group. I wouldn't be surprised if they made a DLC episode involving Vincent  I wish they'd left them both for part 3. They don't feel like part of the group at all.

I liked the vibe of the ending, but it really wasn't explained very clearly and some things were only clarified after they happened which made them lose their emotional impact. I know they need to leave some questions open for part 3 but the whole last boss rush section just left me confused as to what was real and what wasn't or what the writers were trying to communicate

But apart from that, an easy 9.5/10 it's such a damn polished game and there's so much content. It's a bit big but it's never not fun and if you're getting bored you can just mainline things if you want.
