Probably in my top three games of all time, absolutely brilliant game, with some great characters in Balthier and Basch they go against the JRPG stereotypes.

Great battle system, set up your gambits and use your character as a play maker in battles. Side quests and hunts all over the place, the best score in the series, the best locations in the series and nearly ruined by the main character, luckily the supporting cast ( you can choose any character in dungeons as your main character which helps) are great.

My game clock came in at around 120 hours in the end, so much to do and collect

My PS2 broke before this was released so I never got around to playing it, definitely interested in picking it up this time round, I've heard very good things.

I left my PS2 round my ex-girlfriend's house, so this remake is definitely very welcome. It'll be much less humiliating spending £40 instead of going crawling back.

I remember buying and playing this for a while on the PS3 - pretty good graphics, and a proper 3D environment too. This looks like another remaster to pick up and play and will be like a new game for me.

I'm posting itt to register my interest.

I don't remember being a huge fan of the story/plot, and the characters weren't really looked at in much depth. There was excellent potential there, particularly for Basch (sp?). Wasn't there a rumour that he was the actual protagonist at one point in development? Conflicted on the gambit system, too, but the monster hunting side quest was very more-ish.

Balthier was supposed to be the protagonist originally. But Vagrant Story not being a sales hit caused the execs at Square to force Matsuno to switch to Vaan because they wanted something more marketable to Japanese teens than another middle-aged man of experience.

Ah that's a shame, he was way better.
Uninteresting fact - FF XII is the only game I have completed by accident. Talk about anti-climatic.

Uninteresting fact #2: The only Final Fantasy game I've played is XIV. I do have VII and IX on the PS but, whilst my brother played 'em loads, I never had the appetite.

The important question we should all be asking:

Viera in XIV 4.0?
Viera Red Mages in XIV 4.0?
Viera in Gold Saucer bunny suits in XIV 4.0?

I'm very interested in this, especially as it's based on the revised second release the game got in Japan. XII is a game I really, really want to lvoe, but whenever I think about playing it again I just remember the horror that is Vaan, Penelo and Ashe as characters. Be interesting to see what other changes are made for this remaster, but as long as the core systems are left more or less unchanged I'll be mighty tempted. The combination of the License Board and Gambit System was delightful.
