I remember getting this on PS2 and playing it on my new PS3. Unfortunately I hit a difficulty spike and gave up after 5-6 hrs. Wonder if that has been tweaked in this version. The re-master looks lovely though.

I might pick this up at the start of next week when I'm back off work. I'm about ready to drop Star Ocean 5 so this'll fill the JRPG niche that's left behind.

Apart from Teleport Stones and Gyshal Greens are there any items I should not sell?

Is the thing about not opening a certain chest really early in the game in order to get one of the best weapons later still there?

No, they fixed the requirements for the Zodiac spear to be much more achieveable. Although IZJS has better weapons than that now anyway.

Also, you can break the game using the fighting arena thing added to the game. The saves never used to transfer between your main game and the arena- now it does- you can steal very late game high level equipment of level 3 Cactuars/ farm points for the job board and make it very easy indeed!

Started playing the original on the PSX emulator, then managed to bodge a copy of Zodiac Age from a mate who's bogged down with Persona and Nier. Will get it going tomorrow. Am excited!

Great story, that.

This game is as good as I remember!

The jobs add a nice variety to it too, makes some of the later bosses trickier for sure as you can't just have everyone buff and heavy hit (assuming others shared out the jobs between all characters)

Really enjoying this. Only modern FF I haven't beasted due to jumping over to Xbox 360 at the time same as most folks. A lot better than I remember, absolutely love the art style, story is much better from what I remember and that job system 8-).

Addicted, 6 hours over a couple of days is a lot for me.... :shifty: Look forward to more tonight, plus found my collectors guide from 11 years ago in great nick, aw yeah.

Thanks Jawa, seems likd FF games/RPGs always bring me back to posting

Apart from obvious gil etc are the hunts worth keeping up with? Always enjoy them anyway.

Am I right in thinking you can give your team dual jobs?

Yeah you can.

The hunts will also net you rare items on occasion that when sold in various combos will get you stuff in the bazaar. In the old version this was how you got the most powerful sword in the game.
