Fair enough, I am levelling up like crazy now. All my characters have now mastered 4 Paradigms's each and have now started their 5th.

100,000 Gill short of 2,000,000 which I need to buy a Trapezohedrons to upgrade my weapon to it's final tier

To do the Trapezohedrons trick I would need to gain a further 1,500,000 Gil. Those massive Turtles sometimes drop items which you can sale for 150,000 Gil and each kill gains you 80,000 CP (hopefully they will drop a Trapezohedron which has a 1% drop rate)

PLAY | Persona 3 Reloaded [3h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S3, HiJack S1, Red Dwarf S4, Dexter S2
RACE | Chew Valley 10k (June), GNR (Sept), Cardiff Half (Oct)

I have a confession to make, I found the ending too hard, so I gave up after multiple tries and watched the ending on Youtube! :fp:

If I understand right then, it seems a bit impossible to go into the final battles with my ultimate weapons :)

Ultimate weapons have 3 tiers. An average weapon needs 3,500,000 gil spent on it

When I completed the game my weapons were only tier 1

I've had pretty much the same weapons since the game started. Lightning's is now at its maximum so... what do I do now? And is using the same old weapons approach a good idea? ... they've always been superior to any new ones I've found, and easier to upgrade too.

Once a weapon get to the star level then you need to use a transformation catalyst to upgrade it to the next form (off the top of my head you need Perovskite for Lightnings starting weapon).
With regards weapons.
Each weapon and item is part of a particular synthesis group, if you equip several items from the same group then you unlock bonuses. So, for example, the Axis Blade is part of the Boost group. If you equip it with other items from that group then you get a bonus to the ATB charge rate.

I've a few weapons at star level now but since the weapons seem to get weaker when upgraded, I'm still sticking with the weapons I've had since day 1... [I know they no doubt become stronger over time when upgraded, but I'll need a lot of materials before I do that]

I'm a bit into chapter ten now, just fought my first boss where I could choose my entire team freely... wow, what a difference. 25ish hours though before the battling gets really good? REALLY?

Oh well... good times from now on hopefully!

I already spent about 15 hours if not more just fooling around in Gran Pulse (i.e. chapter 11) doing hunt missions, grinding out and just exploring this huge huge place.... it makes all the other hours running through corridors pressing autobattle seem worth it :)

Obligatory first post in thread ahoy:

Finished FF ages ago now but I still keep meaning to go back and mop up the last few achievements. Got all except "all treasures", "fully levelled up" and "5* the mark missions". I was going through the mark missions slowly but it just sort of faded away.

Been playing alot of FF lately (VII,IX) so I decided to go back to XIII today. :fp: What the strawberry float where they thinking, coming from these huge open worlds (ON THE strawberry floating PS1) to a corridor crawler (ON A strawberry floating PS3) :fp: I like Lightening and I really tried to like the game but I just can't do it, life is to short. Also the battle system just doesn't agree with me, I can't even beat Odin.

Youtube is usually your friend in these cases... How far in are you? It took me approx 2--25hours to reach gran pulse and last i played the game I had over 80 hours on it... Unlocking Granpulse is like unlocking a different game... A shame that the whole game was not as open ended as this, considering the technology

Thought I'd pop in here for a change and a read, then I wondered when I actually last played this. So I checked...

According to Xbox.com, it was the 25th March 2010, when I finished Chapter 4.

I've put on average 200 hours into every FF since VII, so that's a pretty damning piece of evidence that I must have been really turned off by XIII. I'll have to force myself to finish it though at some point, just to say I have.

It's the first FF I haven't finished. I even finished FFII on PSP, which isn't a very good game :shifty: FFXIII has some great ideas, it looks amazing, but takes far too long to get going.
