That's great -- I'm still more or less drifting around trying to find new peeps to hang out with, it's bit grim but other than that it's not end of world so can just keep trying.

Also funny story last night. I did unsync run of a dungeon to get material I need to make new carpet, was bored so I decided to keep enemy alive all the way to end of dungeon .. and even when final boss was killed I couldn't leave the dungeon... Oops

Thankfully time out exists and I managed to get 3 of said item I needed so that's one extra, hoorah (I mean, yeah I can buy them off MB but they're like 90k a pop :dread: )

Dude, you're more than welcome to join the free company that I'm in. They're called "Kitten Approved (KA)" and, albeit a smallish group, they're a decent bunch of folk. They lead as a "LGBT"-friendly group but anyone is welcome to join. I saw the leader, Justin, put out a "join our group" message and I decided to do so! They have a house, ship and stuff and the more regular players are highly ranked (like yourself). I am the total noob in the team, obvs  .

We're on the Omega server... but you're welcome to join us. I don't have the powers to send/accept an invite but I could let the guys know if you wanted.

If I ever move to omega I'll take up on that offer, right now want to give Louisoix a chance. Plus one of close mates plays on it and my boyfriend also plays on it regularly over Balmung

Honestly I'm just hoping SE will allow for more than one cross server linkshell in future, but I'll prob just leave one I'm in at the moment since it's quiet.

The game is pretty LGBT friendly, lot of Roegadyn players happens to be gay.

For reasons I don't need to say I'm sure :slol:

Cool, man - just shout if you ever wander into Omega!

I don't know why some gay players like to be Roegadyns... :shifty: ...

It's for best that you stay innocent then!

Nah, they're more muscline and/or big. So it's pretty much eye candy for them though I just really like being one because of how big they are and I've felt odd playing other race on my main (went lalafell with one of two free race change potions for giggles, plan was to be that for month. Went back to roe after two weeks lol)

...ah, I see :slol: .

Funnily enough, the main folk in the company seem to be the tall, cat-type race (fake edit: Miqo'te). As you know, I am Lalafell... I just thought they looked cool :) .

I do like lalafells, I got alt who's dragoon lalafell but I tend to play as big guys more.

Worth to note you'll get one free potion with completion of MSQ 2.0 so you can use that to change race/some features if you like, otherwise they're pretty pricey on mogstation.

Thanks for the heads-up. At the moment I'm dipping my toes back into the water by re-learning the controls and tackling some really simple missions but I hope to pick up the pace and continue with the Main Story Quest after a short time!

Just take your time and do what you want - you can always change your class, take your time gathering or crafting or learn different combat class.

If you feel there's too many sidequests I'd suggest ignore these (but do go for one that has + in the quest icon - it's usually blue too ). You can always come back to them later if you like and there's list somewhere on net that lists sidequests you should do for rewards.

The blue + made it easier in game, but there's still quests that gives you minions (think of them as pets) so worth doing these too

I quite like doing the really simple quests as I'd literally forgotten most things about the game... it took me about fifteen minutes last night to realise that there is is a little green pointer that appears on your compass to show you which direction to go in next on your mission... I was just wandering about :fp:  .

I didn't know what the "+" missions were and "I'm excited!" about the possibility of getting a minion as a reward, so I will tackle them, now, too!

Some quests that aren't marked + gives out minion -- there's chain of side quests that you can do in Aleport that once you did all of it you'll get two different minions which happens to be Wolf Pup and Coeurl kitten and later on at desert location there's side quest, fairly annoying one, but worth it because it gives classic Cactaur - even includes stiff movements as we know it to be

I think that I'm in the Aleport area now :o ... ta for the tip!

The minions are so cool. I have a few but I only really use the baby behemoth one because the others were gained through buying the expansions and I don't want other players to think "that d*ck knows nothing about the game but he's prancing around with a strawberry-floatin' xxxxx minion!". I did earn the "flying ship" minion, though, so I don't mind using that. The other ones can wait until I've earned my place more :) .

My dream at the moment is to be able to ride a mount. I think you have to be level twenty-something before you can do that? I guess that's my current goal!

Yeah roughly that, but you need to be point in msq to be able to pick your free company before you can get rights to ride a mount.

It won't be long though, and unlike before it's much easier to get that now

Yeah you're not too far behind me and my fiancee Jawa. We're high 20's (Might even be low 30's) and currently travelling about to do a dungeon in each area which happens not long after you complete the Envoy quests (Go deliver a letter to the other cities).

We started in Gridania and went Miqo'te (She's an Archer and I'm a Conjurer). I think we're back in the areas surrounding Gridania at the moment, but I can't remember as it's been a few weeks since we last logged on. Might see if she fancies playing some tonight actually. Get back in the swing of things.

It's good to see a few of us returning to the game. I want to stick with it rather than fading away... we'll see :-).

Ah, to be back in my early days of FFXIV. I was so lost on finding where things are.

Before they changed the teleport name i spent ages wondering where the hell Maurader class is... despite been there more than few times. (It's named Coral Tower so it was on teleport menu, but now it's changed to that)

I am sometimes struggling to identify where I have to go during missions. When I start a mission the map changes to show where I need to be... but it's not that helpful as it doesn't show me how to get there. The compass sometimes shows a little green marker at the edge so I can then see what direction to head off in, but it doesn't always seem to do this. In such cases, I normally spend a while flipping between the two and wandering around until I stumble into the right place.

Maybe a bit more play-time will help.
