Yay! I just joined the Rabanastre (Raban) Free Company!

I didn't know if Rabanstre meant anything... it does:

The Royal City of Rabanastre is a city in Ivalice, the world of Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. It is the hometown of Vaan, the hume orphan and the game's main character. Being the capital of the Kingdom of Dalmasca, Princess Ashe would also normally make residence here. Rabanastre becomes the most frequently visited city by the player, and could be considered a "homebase".

I have given myself over to this completely. There's just so much to see and do, and so much added since I played in 2.1 and 2.2, before I even get to the Heavensward stuff.

It's an embarrassment of content, really, and the effort that's gone in to all the NPC dialogue during the main quest is just nuts considering how much of it there is.

Our FC has been disbanded. Long story short, Nao (the owner) wanted to take a break so he offered to offer the position of leader/owner to someone else but nobody stepped up, then he was saying if nothing happens then he'll disband. Some people get huffy and he... got fed up, I guess.

Can't blame him but I'll have a talk with other ex-FC members and if we manage to find a FC, I will invite you two.

It's great, isn't it? FF XIV deserves far more praise than it gets.

Hey can't take credit, all thanks goes to Ignis - she arranged the meet time and we all decided to join exisiting FC as starting our FC would mean taking ages to get a house, and all the ranks (which is needed for the perks)

Out of interest, which FC are you guys joining? Only one of the guys in my FC mentioned drama in another FC yesterday and how we might be seeing an influx of players because of it. That'd be a pretty neat coincidence.

They're going to Freedom in Unity, not Nth Gen Interactive

Updated info:

FUN's great FC, at first I was worried I might not connect with everyone bar most ex-Raban members, but past few days I've got less shy and talking with them as well having a good laugh and I feel like I'm at home as I was in Raban FC.

I went ahead and levelled up Dark Knight, I'm really enjoying it and will make it my main Tank class but I also want to get Paladin gem so I've levelled up Gladiator... geez, it's slow start! But tanking has becoming more fun as I've getting less anxious about it as well learning how to tank effectively it feels good when I managed to do a dungeon with nobody getting killed.

Working on Miner to 50 and I think I'll give it a break and carry on with main story as Black Mage to try progress further as well hit 56 before carrying on with Fisher to 50 (it took me hours to get from 40 to 45... I think about 5+ hours with chatting in between :slol:

Also FFXIV now has /playtime :dread:

Right now my Total Play Time is 32 days, 14 hours, 29 minutes... :oops:

That's great to hear, man. The communication in this game is excellent and it's good to know that the new Free Company has friendly folk on board.

Five hours to jump five levels seems quick to me! You must be pretty well focused on mving up through the grades.

Dude, I thought you'd have logged *more* time than that :-)

. I don't think there is a playtime log on the PS4 version.

I'm a bit frustrated that I haven't played this recently, especially with the new Company starting off. I'm struggling to play two MMOs at once (i.e. FF XIV and ESO) as I get mixed up between the controls and gameplay elements. ESO has had my attention but I plan to give more time to FF XIV now. I enjoy ESO but this has way better communcation and players come across as friendlier (in most cases, anyway!).

I hope to see you online soon, man. And Dragon, too - who seems to have raced through the skill levels - I think he got up to level 26 in about a week!

Here's my 1-month progress

I'm still doing all the sidequests as I come across them, though I've left some really low-level ones hanging around in Ul'dah for another class. I'm about 5 or 6 levels above the main scenario at this stage, so those quests are a breeze, but I'm getting some seriously diminishing returns from questing, in terms of EXP. It takes about 10 story quests or 20 sidequests for me to level up now, which feels insignificant, and even the Hunting Log isn't making much of a difference anymore. I am getting nice boosts from the Challenge Log, though. I'm really pushing for lv45 so I can get the Dragoon armour set from the job quest, then pretty much not worry about tinkering with gear until the end game. Hope I can do it next time I'm on.

I also need to get my hands on 10k company seals to reset my attribute points at some point. I've put about 5 points in Vitality to get me through some of the more challenging solo fights before I taught my Chocobo how to heal. So it's time to dump every single point in to Strength.

Seven mentioned that you can time /playtime in the chat box to see how long you've been playing the game overall.

I'd give FFXIV more attention while you have an active sub so that it doesn't seem like you're wasting money. ESO will pretty much always be there but FFXIV will need you to hand over more money if you want to play it later on but your sub has run out.

Of course, the main reason to play is because the rest of us are doing so too :toot:

I haven't logged in since last week because The Twin Snakes ensnared my attention. I finished that last week and my new GPU seems to be behaving itself so I'll load this up again tonight.
