My WoL is going through the final climactic stages of the Dragonsong war, serious cutscenes and all, while dressed as a Tonberry. This game is so dumb, I love it.

FF XIV is finally heading to Xbox! The game will release for Xbox Series systems in "Spring 2024".

As there is currently crossplay between PC, PS4 and PS5, I wonder if the Xbox systems will be incorporated into this?

....Final Fantasy 14, will eat up more hours of your life next year, when it adds its fifth major expansion, named Dawntrail. Announced during a glitzy fan fest event earlier today, director Naoki Yoshida described it as “the very best summer vacation a hero could possibly have”. It’s set in a tropical area named Tural, west of Eorzea. There, you’ll assist in a rite of succession to determine the land’s next ruler.

As you’d expect, the new content will come alongside a major patch, which will increase the level cap from 90 to 100, and will include several new jobs. There’ll also be new dungeons, enemies, gear, raids, and much more – as well as a major graphical overhaul, which will make the NPCs “much prettier” according to Yoshi-P.

Spencer described the new partnership as a "seminal" moment as the companies look to partner more in the future.

"What I really appreciate about you and your team is that you put the player in the centre of everything you do," said Spencer to FF14 director and producer Naoki Yoshida.

"At Xbox we share a very similar spirit."

The Xbox consoles version will feature fast loading and 4K support on Series X. It will also have crossplay with other platforms.

Spencer noted he wants to bring the Final Fantasy and Xbox communities together in a way that is "safe, secure and engaging, and above all fun".

The game will be a digital-only release and will include the forthcoming expansion Dawntrail due summer 2024, also announced at the Fan Fest.

Square Enix CEO Takashi Kiryu also noted that other games will be heading to the platform, with Spencer responding he's looking forward to partnering on future games.

Xbox and Square Enix have had a limited relationship in the past, with most Final Fantasy games released on PlayStation before other platforms.

Perhaps this will change from now.

Only major ONLINE game Xbox was missing out on was FF. They kind of own all the other ones.
