Currently gone for:

Chrom/Maribelle (no strawberry floating say in this :x )
Sully/Kellam
Gaius/Sumia
Donnel/Panne
Nowi/Stahl
Lon'qu/Olivia
Tharja/Ricken
Vaike/Miriel

Dunno who to go for for the Avatar. Was considering Anna but the first conversation between the two filled me with utter hatred for her. She'll be doomed to die alone. And the idea of pairing the Avatar with Lucina creeps me out. :dread:

Also need to find suitable partners for Cordelia and Lissa. Going to test them out with characters I've yet to really use (Frederick and Libra, never like using the advanced classes when I still have weaker ones to train up).

Their child has the skills of four different characters so is incredibly powerful.

I figured it would work well, and I'm pursuing it. Still feels weird though.

Gregor/Cherche is meant to be.

I've been playing the GBA Fire Emblem on Wii U... It's a bit huge isn't it? I ploughed through the first 10 missions - had to do a couple of restarts. 10 hours according to Activity Log 6 hours on the game save... And that's essentially the games tutorial!

I lost like 6 major characters within a few moves when I tried to pick this up again. strawberry float me it's no easy Street, hope I can get back into it as I was really enjoying it. Support relationships seem absolutely crucial at this point, as well as having those balanced. On a side mission in a castle with lots of "killer" weapons so my people get surprise owned.

Started this again this week as I'd got to chapter nine ages ago and wasn't getting anywhere without people dying.
It's a lot easier using the healing people!

.. You weren't using a healer? Train them up and they can almost fully heal people from miles back, as well as teleport units to safety. Keep them behind the line. I used the original girl and wed her to my character. You can also use other classes and the war monk woman you pick up to fight and heal, good being able to defend themselves.

Yeah, there's even dialogue when you recruit Libra that explicitly mentions it.

Picked this up again. Defeated the Mad King, Chrom and Sumia got married and I now know where Lucina comes from!
I bought the dlc that has the gold and exp missions as I was struggling a bit and characters weren't strong enough.
Hopefully I can stick at this a bit longer this time!

Gone back to this again and am learning a lot more about upgrading and reclassing people. Also trying to pair some up.
There's a lot in this game that you really have to read up on isn't there. Games like this need proper manuals.

To be fair the in game manual is literally at your finger tips. But yeah.

I was never really sure whether changing class before reaching max level was bad, but it felt necessary to progress or at least have that sense of progression.

I'm still only about half way or maybe 2/3rds though the game, because I'm playing with permadeath and usually rage quitting if I lose a favourite character. Trouble is they are pretty much all favourites with partners now. One reckless move can undo an hour session easily.

Same here.
I did go through the electronic manual but I feel that it doesn't go anywhere near as in depth as it should.
I think in most cases it appears that changing class before reaching max is a good thing. I've always reached max and then changed though!

I know this might be a mistake when we're so close to a new Fire Emblem, but I had a really strong urge to play some FE so I've gone back to this. First time through I didn't know what I was doing with the children characters and they were still incredibly strong, so I've always wanted to go back and play it again, but with planning. Just about to hit Chapter 13 and I've done all the grinding to get the parents up to the right classes with the right skills to pass on. There's going to be a lot of them ending up with Gale Force and/or Life Taker.

I've pretty much stayed away from info on Three Houses, but I hope it handles the relationships more like this game did than Fates.
