This is so much easier than Gaiden holy gooseberry fool. One of the early maps has something like 10 less enemies.

Sadly though it seems they've removed the annoying bullshit summoner enemies who summon between 1-6 gargoyles each turn. Maybe that's a good thing though, because those things were broken as hell.

I'm liking this a lot. I skipped the last one (was it called Birthright or something?). The bloat in that version put me off. I loved Awakening, but I'm finding the simpler style of this one refreshing. I like all the wee town bits and the dungeon bits as well. Both are short and sweet.

Hear, hear. I play Fire Emblem for the tactical battles so having to muddle through managing my own castle, as cool as it sounds, broke up the flow and put me off continuing. I don't mind the short story sections or waifu bits which is why I put over 90 hours into Awakening without realising how much I had played.

Honestly the original gaiden is the hardest game ive ever played. The RNG in it is ridiculous. The spells cost health as in this but they cost much more. It was like 4 health or more for a basic spell.

I'll grab this at some point soon. Need to buy fates, but I'll likely never get it as I want the collectors edition and strawberry float paying the ridiculous prices for it.

Just when I thought the summoner dudes were removed, I remembered you got to them in Serika's route first. Just come across my first one, turn 1 he summons 5 zombies.

strawberry float sake. :x

Sloooowly making my way through this, have about 10 hours put in chipping away at it for half an hour before bed. I'm mostly enjoying it although it can get super strawberry floating frustrating. Is the only reason they put in that turnwheel to compensate for all the bullshit misses that you get when fighting? Good strawberry floating god, I've never had so many unsuccessful hits in a Fire Emblem game before. At least the enemy miss just as many so it's evened out.

I got to the 'Grieth's Citadel' mission with Celica in act 2 last night. strawberry float this mission. strawberry float the teleporting witches. strawberry float the summoner and his zombies. strawberry float the archers with their ridiculous reach. strawberry float the bottleneck at the entrance. strawberry float the sand that makes everything so slow. strawberry float the boss with his stupidly high resistance stat.

strawberry float everything about this strawberry floating mission.

Randomly found this on YouTube, it's well worth the 2 and a half hour investment. Overview of the entire series and background of development. Not specifically related to Echoes, but I thought it worth posting.

I finally found time for Echoes recently, very nearly at the end (currently on Act 4, very close to Rudolph on the map, done all I can with Celica in this Act). At first Mila's Turnwheel horrified me, it felt game breaking. Then I met the teleporting witches who both decided to teleport to my newly acquired healer and kill her in one turn, and suddenly the Turnwheel became much loved. :shifty: I'm gutted I missed out on two characters (I killed Zeke before finding his sister Tatiana, and she seemingly vanishes once you've killed Zeke.). Maybe I'll play it again in the future and put that right. I had no interest in the DLC due to time investment and an ever increasing backlog (I also hated that some class paths were restricted to DLC), but watching a few YT videos I really want the DLC... some of the weapons, items and classes look way OP (very cool designs though). I was watching Abdallah breeze through a section relatively easily, with the DLC, that I struggled with.

Excited to see what Intelligent Systems have in store for the Switch entry.
