DEFINITELY play on easy. Knowing how gooseberry fool you are at games, Jawa, you'll never finish it otherwise.

I've done a jawa on this. The special edition is still at home waiting to be opened.

You chaps know me by now... I chose the "Casual" option i.e. people who get done over re-appear in the next stage. Good job too as I lost a few people several times in the opening chapters :fp: .

"Casual" isn't the easiest option, though. There is a lower one where I think characters re-appear almost instantaneously. Felt like a BOSS to be starting a game at a tougher level than the lowest one :datass: .

I did laugh at the fact that, above "Hard", there is a "Lunatic" difficulty level. I bet even you guys don't play on that!

Technically not true. Awakening's story and plot won't get mentioned if you play this however.

What on earth is up with that RNG!

Level 23 on Conquest Normal (switched from Hard ages ago, just gone back to finish). Fight the entire way to Takumi, attack him with a guaranteed win with him having a 1% crit chance.

His skill activates and crits me for 74, Kamui dies. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

So I believe I'm on the final chapter of Conquest.

Ryouma :(

I finally get to kill the strawberry float out of Garon and Macbeth. strawberry float those two complete and utter assholes. I'll be glad when I can kill them.

I found out why I was getting so strawberry floated. I forgot in If/Fates it's ALWAYS better to use pair up rather than attack stance. For some reason going back into the game I thought it was the other way around and it was strawberry floating me... hard.

Ok, so that wasn't the final chapter. This is the strawberry floating final chapter and whoever designed it like this can strawberry float off.

It's 2 chapters in one and you can't save inbetween, so good luck if you get hit by a random crit in either part, because you'll be doing the whole thing again.

Balls.

Awakening pulled that gooseberry fool, too.

Just to ease the pain a little, though, the game does not save after the final chapter(s) so it doesn't matter if anyone on your team dies or not on these missions since it's not recorded.

I did it!

I figured all the items I'd be hoarding incase I'd ever need them might actually come in handy if I use them, so I boosted the strawberry float out of my 4 main guys stats + Elise and just slowly tanked my way downwards, then once in range I rushed the boss with Marx and Kamui. Felt so strawberry floating good, but damn I need to use items more often. I'm terrible in JRPGs for that. I hoard everything for a rainy day and the rainy day never appears so I have an inventory full of gooseberry fool.

Been reading through this thread again because I'm playing Conquest at the moment. Chalky is a legend. Can't imagine playing through Conquest with Permadeath on. I'd have no one left.

Although the game difficulty has seemed to ease off a bit in chapters 24 and 25, this game was strawberry floating insane from 20 to 23. I was save scumming through some of those levels.

8-)

This game frustrated me more than any other I can remember in recent memory. Still glad I powered through it, though.

And yeah, it definitely eases up towards the end after those ridiculous 5 or 6 missions in a row from about 18 onwards.

Can't imagine playing any Fire Emblem with it off.

On the other hand I never did get round to really putting time into any of the Fates campaigns so I guess I don't know how hard it gets.

I've played through Gaiden. I've seen hell. There's no way Echoes can be as bullshit as Gaiden was.

Finished Conquest this morning. Both stages of the final level, I just did a full charged at the bosses.

Glad I didn't play Permadeath. There is no way I would have beat this with my sanity intact.

Eventually I'll get Revelations. Looking forward to that.
