You only played a Link to the Past 6 years ago?

No, but that joke certainly stopped being funny 6 years ago.

I used to try and play Manic Miner and Ghostbusters on the family Spectrum when I was about three or four, but this one was aimed squarely at me, and I loved it.

Grand Prix 2 on PC, I don't want to think how many hours I spent playing it.

I had a pool game on the ZX81 that was pretty great considering the limitations of the hardware.

Drugs have muddied my mind but I can remember loving Impossible Mission, manic miner, speedball 2, knight lore, leaderboard and head over heels.

Even though it was rubbish, river raid on the Vic20 gets a lot of attention for being the first game I ever saw.

First hardcore loves were castlevania, sensible soccer and ocarina.

Rapidly-greying is Mediocre to Average at games :fp:

Whilst my gaming life began on the Intellivision, followed by the Atari 2600, then the VIC20, it wasn't until I landed a Speccy that I really started to love games - until then I just didn't have the coordination or motor skills to reap the rewards from any investment. As such, despite putting
(largely attritional) hours into Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, and the like, the sweet spot for me occurred with both Bruce Lee and Pyjamarama (look em up) where my skill level slightly exceeded the demand of the games and I found myself feeling that buzz synonymous with being in the company of greatness and viewing it from above. In short, this is where/when I got gud.

Happy days.

Mine wasn’t the first one I ever played but was probably my favourite game for about 5 years. I first played Ghostbusters on an Amstrad at a friends house and after that begged my parents for a computer for Christmas. My parents delivered with a Commodore 64 and a copy of the Ghostbusters game and I haven’t stopped gaming since.

Ghostbusters was an astonishingly good game in young Moggy’s opinion. I loved the movies and playing the game made me feel like I was actually a Ghostbuster!

There were many games after it that I adored and there are definitely better games out there, but nothing will ever beat the nostalgia I feel when I think back to that wonderful Christmas of Ghostbusting.

strawberry float that game, never ever worked properly on my atari. First game I truly loved? Alex Kidd in miracle world. The sense of satisfaction when I finished it was amazing, no idea how far through I was, no internet to google answers. The addiction started then.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

I'm the same as Moggy. Ghostbusters had me playing for hours.

Honorable mentions are Forbidden Forest, Ghost and Goblins and Way of the Exploding Fist (all on C64)

BS. "Everyone's going Atari, the number one video game". No such song for the Commodore.

Yes?
