After a bit of help folks, I've started doing T25 as I've found that road running hammers my knees and shift work makes joining a club again very difficult. Just thought I should point although I'm nowhere the fitness levels I had as a teenager I'm in pretty good shape.

Anyway, this morning I've woken up with a stabbing pain in my groin beside the pubic bone. I've probably not helped myself as I've been prodding around to see if I can feel any lumps as I had a bit of a scare with lymph nodes about 4 years ago, I can't feel anything obvious and there is no pain when pressing but walking, getting up and bending over are pretty uncomfortable.

Obviously I will go to the doctors if it continues but just wondered if any of you have experienced anything like this before? I've always associated groin strains as being on the inside of your leg but I'm wondering if the pain could be higher up?

Could it be a hernia? Definitely get that checked out man.

Femoral hernias
Femoral hernias also occur when fatty tissue or a part of your bowel pokes through into your groin at the top of your inner thigh.

I had this the other week and was worried that it was hernia related as it was exactly the same spot where Ive previously had hernia surgery - I think it was just a muscle twinge though. Was a bit sore for a day or so but after some rest and stretching out it got better. Hasnt bothered me again yet.

How would you describe the pain? I've had loads of what I would call twinges but this is quite a deep stabbing pain.

I was legitimately concerned I had twisted a bollock and had to abort my final set of squats. That sort of pain.

:dread: i'd normally say if the pain hasn't subsided after 48-72 hours then go see a doctor. any muscle tear should have eased off after that amount of time.

I use my phone to time in between sets and to record my numbers etc, so I wouldn't want phones banned. But then again yesterday I did see a girl taking a photo of her water bottle/legs and instagramming it :fp:

Been hitting my calorie goal (2,800ish) for a couple of weeks now, apart form one or two days. Gained a bit of weight and my lifts are improving, but slowing a little, haven't increased my squat or bench (strength days) in a few weeks. Going to attempt an increase next time a couple of sets and see how it goes.

Also going to try and fit in an HIIT at least once a week at the end of a session. Is 20secs fast as you can and 1min slow cycling for 5/6 mins ok? Seen quite a lot of varying routines/sets for HIIT.

If I'm doing HIIT on a bike it tends to be 60 seconds hard, 60 seconds soft for twenty minutes, but I don't really know what the science behind it is.

It's not fun. I don't do it so much anymore, oddly enough. :slol:

That sounds like hardcore HIIT  On the bike I used to do 30 second sprint, 90 second slow, for 16 minutes total, i.e. 8 sets of sprints. To be honest though there are loads of different suggestions on how best to do HIIT. Maybe look at Tabata intervals if you don't want to spend too long on it.

Upped my squat to 90kg from 85 and my max reps went down from 12 to 9. Will try to force 10 next time but I was strawberry floated at 9

Yeah let's not ban phones in gyms, I use it to time myself. And listen to music. And text mates between sets.

Fair enough! I think the iphone is too big to use as a music player, but each to their own!

Love Black Dynamite.

Cheers for the kind words guys. One day I'll find a picture of my 21st party, when I was still pretending I could grow hair. I've de-aged by like 15 years since then.

Ill have to get a progress picture at the weekend. I dont think Ive 'grown' much, but people comment that I look much healthier and I feel great, so something must be working.
