Yesterday my personal trainer made me loads of exercises for a minute each based mainly around the shoulders - then got me to do an agonsising last excercise circulating some small weights with out stretched arms for 3x1 minutes. It was literally like decending into hell itself - and they were only 2.5kg weights! :x

I do something similar with 4kg weights DML, it's three exercises done for three reps(not a minute for each one though) and by the end of it my shoulders want to drop off my body. I feel that pain. o/

Anything that works my shoulders strawberry floats them up easily  They are a really weak part of my and I'm working to build them up. A pathetic 27Kg on the shoulder lift :x I can barely do 2 sets of 12.

Another 20KG and a squat/bench rack on its way to me. Gonna be starting properly tonight.

That's not actually a 'bad' weight for OHP. Unless you are talking about a machine rather than barbell.

A machine  :fp:

I guess what annoys me is my other weights are all much higher (in 40Kg-50Kg range) now. Well apart from Biceps and Triceps curls if I do them.

Very hard session today. Squat put up 1.5 kg and was worlds harder than last time. Shoulder press up the same and my core just couldn't hold me steady. Cleans just annihilated me.

Don't worry about it. Your shoulders are much smaller muscles than your legs, chest and back.

As an example, my bench press is 125kg and my OHP is about 70-80kg.

I can currently bench more than I squat, is that normal? Seems weird, especially considering my thighs and buttocks are naturally massive compared to my puny flat chest.

Starting Strength Wikia FAQ wrote:"I bench more than I squat or deadlift. Is this okay, or is this weird?"

"Yes, it is weird, but it is not all that uncommon. The bench and curl jockey mentality that pervades the typical youth culture certainly lends itself to greater development of that associated musculature despite the inherent relative weakness of the pectoral girdle and elbow flexors/extensors when compared to the hips and legs. I mean, when people say "make a muscle", they don't mean "flex your hamstrings".
Evenly developed people have a stronger deadlift than squat, and their deadlift and squat is much higher than their bench press. If you can bench more in skivvies and a t-shirt than you can deadlift or squat, then you have some serious muscular imbalances."

It'll no doubt change once you start squatting more regularly, the bench will not keep up with the rate of progress.

Thanks! I'll keep at it. I have noticed some muscles getting bigger. My legs seem to be exploding, before they were like shapeless chicken legs  Now I can see every muscle and have separation between them. :D I'm sure my knees look wider. My arms are getting bigger and sexier. Just gotta keep hitting that chest and losing fat.

It really annoys me that my body stores most of my fat in my stomach. I'm going to have to go down to a really low % fat to get rid of it.

Good wee session tonight. Thighs are killing. Topped out my max weight (40KG) on the deadlift already. Hopefully the extra 20KG should arrive soon.

Now the best part, making sure I'm getting enough calories. :D

Good session last night. Bossed my run and bossed cycling. I was finding cycling easy to I just went faster, got an extra 1.5Km in the same time on the same resistance. Upped a few weights and added a fast 5 mins on the cross trainer to cool down at the end.

8-)

I weighed myself yesterday. I've lost no weight since I joined the gym (3 weeks ago?), although I've lost quite a bit of fat from around the belly.

I think my triceps are made of string or something.

Been trying these and really struggling, even after dropping the weight on each dumbell. Maybe it's because I'm doing it after other arm exercises.

They are generally difficult because of how much they isolate your triceps.

Managed 1x4 140kg deadlifts on Wednesday. :D Felt like I was about to pass out after the last rep

Off to the gym in a couple of hours, getting some lamb shank and potatoes down me first.

Good job pal. Keep it up. Were they touch and go or dead stop reps?

Thanks man. They were dead stop reps, I hadn't even heard of touch and go until googling them now.

Looking forward to cooking up some homemade burgers for my dinner later. Reached the point where my appetite's ridiculous, I'm hungry constantly! Good for my body, not so much my wallet though, have resorted to shitty daily meals like dry pasta and tuna to keep the costs down.

Good thing you haven't heard of them. Don't do them. It was a mistake I made from the start and as a result I'm pretty slow off the floor.

Have ate a strawberry floating shitload today. It's hard to keep up when at work, especially GOMAD. Pretty much just a no go at work.
