Boro apparently "secured" Assombalonga for £14m offering £60k per week! Gutted if true. With the sell on clause payable to Posh, we'd only pocket around £11m. Accounting for FFP we'd be lucky to see £5m of that spent on a replacement.

I don't blame Britt if he does go for that sort of cash especially in the Championship but I think we should hold out for more. It's not like Boro can't afford £18/20m for the best striker outside of the Prem.

Sounds like we've signed Brett Pitman from Ipswich. Looking forward to seeing the animated, tense, spoilery video that's released later to announce it.

I liked Pitman when he played for us. Decent player and he ought to score a fair few goals in League One.

That's a pretty decent signing for League One.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

How anticlimactic. No incredible video with edgy music.

We need to try harder to get attention and look cool. :x

Quite pleased with our dealings so far. We're now signed a really decent keeper and striker, which were the two positions we were weak in last season. Plus a couple of solid defenders. Just need to bring in a reliable centre mid and I think we'll be pretty much sorted.

Just over 3 weeks to go!

What? Was he top scorer last season? Chris Wood is a better striker. Be good if he moves. Anything that weakens your lot.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Win the league this year mate. Tone will cartwheel on the pitch during the final home game

Wood had 1 decent season. His record before is average if that. Britt has scored 1 in 2 almost over the last 3 yrs plus his ratio before at Posh was good too. Don't forget he had 15 months out after his knee injury too. He is without doubt the best goalscorer outside of the Prem.

Hope your lot fail to achieve anything remotely resembling a challenge this year. Again. The money you spend to be so gooseberry fool is laughable.

Got to agree with that - if Villa miss out on the play off places this season it'll look very bad for Stevie. I reckon you'll go up though.

The lack of newcastle and brighton make the league much weaker this year, don't see boro and sunderland putting up much of a fight tbh, sorry lads. If we don't go up i fear we'll be stuck in the league for a while. :dread:

The Championship isn't the worst league in the world to be stuck in - it's very competitive, there's a great mix of teams from across the country, lots of great rivalries and I reckon it's a bit more indicative of football in England than the Premier League. I didn't realise until we went down how much I enjoyed being in the Championship actually.

Oh yeah. I enjoyed it last year. Each weekend brought hope rather than travelling to united and conceding out usual 4 goals and accepting it. I want to see what we could achieve in the prem with tones money and lerner finally gone.
