I genuinely wish I had a realistic chance of making it to the South Coast - it's a 900 mile round trip so will be very difficult to get to. I'll more than likely be at the Ewood fixture though, and here's hoping we both find ourselves promoted at the end of next season!

From our side, this has nothing to do with Southampton, Brighton or Bournemouth. For the club to have turned around from where it's been over the past few years and to somehow win the league against all odds (we weren't top of the league all season until part way through the final round of games and then for the final 20 minutes) is just an incredible feeling. We don't have any proper South Coast rivals at the moment (El Classicoast!) so this is completely and utterly about us (apart from you, Plymouth. You can suck it). Yesterday afternoon/evening was honestly one of the best of my life. To go in with such little hope of the league (was more of a joke than a serious prospect) and have it turn around as the match round progressed was just... awesome. Overly aggressive man behind us who has been berating players and fans alike for the past 12 months was crying like a baby after 60 minutes. We were all waiting for Ryan Taylor to pop up for Plymouth. When Hartlepool went 2-1 up it was just stunning.

Wow. What an emotional rollercoaster. 15 mins in and we're down as things stood and the City Ground fell silent.

When Blues scored too I thought that was it. But in the end we found our feet and won comfortably.

Sorry Cora but as you said on a previous page, it's every man for themself. Good luck next season and hope you get rid of Venkys if possible.

Like trolling me is going to work this weekend! I am still buzzing, one of the best weekends of my life. I've got a hangover in my head AND my legs! I've seen us lift three proper titles now. Three! We're bloody Portsmouth.



One of the best moments in football. We were minutes from not existing. To see the ship turn around and to do it in such style was incredible.

I'm not denying trolling myself! However I do hope Brighton go up there and become the South Coasts top team next season. In a season when we will be the only traditional team locally not in the Premier League it's fantastic that we get the kudos and coverage locally when it could have been so easily overshadowed by Brighton's bigger achievement. It's such an unlikely turn of events.

Edit: as much as Brighton have had a huge, massive achievement in getting promoted, I'd say it's relatively a similar size of thing that Portsmouth have done in League Two - they could conceivably have ceased to exist a few seasons ago, but now they're heading in the right direction and have a trophy to show for it. Let the fans have a moment in the sun, it's long past due.

Got mixed up as Bournemouth led pretty much all season and Watford ended up being the first team to clinch promotion.

I agree about Pompey's past status adding an element, but don't think it quite nudges it ahead of PL promotion. The Leicester story does also add a fairytale element now as well because, whilst it probably won't happen again anytime soon, there's no longer any real reason why it can't.

If Portsmouth can continue to grow and climb up the league, then yeah, it will definitely surpass a promotion to the top flight. Especially if Brighton do what we are going to do and slip back down. Sob.

Thing is, because we did get that success in our good years, now that our struggles are out of the way, our lower league status just doesn't feel so bad. I'd feel far worse as a Leeds fan who didn't capitalize on the good times with silverware.

I feel the future is bright for my club and thats a really nice feeling.
