He's still an absolutely despicable banana split mind
Hes not enough to get you up on his own. You finshed 13th last season, not exactly knocking on the door.
I don't think hes the sort of player who is going to survive a season in the Championship, just strikes me as a very QPR-style signing.

Yep totally agree, was more replying to glowys optimistic opinion of we'll get rid once he gets us promoted haha.
Whilst I'm not particularly happy with the signing, it's nowhere near as bad as some of QPR's lunacy - they signed Samba for 100k a week before crazy TV money!!

He's on a 1 year deal mate, either way he is gone next season.
Fabian Delph is a banana split.

If Terry puts in some decent performances and instills some leadership and determination into other players, for a free transfer and a year's contract...I don't really mind. Sure he's a twat, but then most footballers are, so can't say I really care too much. Ultimately it's about what he does at the club - on match day, in training and in the dressing room - more than anything else. Let's see how it pans out.
£60k a year is a £3.1 million outlay. That's not including bonuses and the like but it isn't much, especially for Villa who are probably the richest club in there and have spunked money on players like McCormack with negligible results.
He's unlikely to get them up by himself - Villa were 31 points behind second place Brighton last year, and his well past his best. You're going to have to supplement his signing with others in order to make up that deficit.
We got Woodgate back when we were in the championship and he was about five years younger than Terry's current age and while he was effective at that level, he didn't perform a miracle and drag us up by himself.

Hi Zell, meet Glowy.

He's also a massive twat, no jealousy here at all, he's just a scummy bastard and I'd be saying exactly the same if he was at my club.
He is, however, we need some scummy bastards at villa, him and lansbury are our scummy bastards now.
Lansbury is a scummy bastard on the pitch but off it he's a good guy. Met him a few times before and after NFFC games and he was always courteous to me, my boys and many other fans. Even when he played for Villa against us, he came over and signed loads of autographs and had a decent 20 mins with the Forest fans.
