Disappointing start to the season but I'm still more than willing to give him a chance. If he can't get us firing with the squad we have by Christmas then maybe I'll revisit. We did look pretty damn good for the first half against Hull, I'm still living off that optimism :slol:

But twenty decent minutes against Hull isn't enough, not for me anyway. He's had forty games in charge and nothing has improved - I'd argue it is getting worse. Add to that the filling up of the squad with ageing, plodding players on big money And his admission of "I don't do tactics". It's awful, he's a total dinosaur and his brand of football is at least as bad as anything McLeish or Lambert served up.

If we're going to be stuck in this gooseberry fool division (and we will be with Bruce in charge) I'd at least like us to play some entertaining football. As it is, it's just purgatory.

I do actually really like the championship, in before lol you're just saying that because we're here forever, even if we got promoted I'd probably continue watching televised games. It's been a way more entertaining league than I thought.

Its a great league, we dont get much coverage comapred to the Prem, then again we dont have to put up wit the drivel SSN puts out, one of their current pieces is the height of Joses signings over the years... :dread: :dread:

Actually I will admit I have quite enjoyed watching the Championship games more, and it is certainly enjoyably competitive (unlike Villa!), but the quality of the football on show is frequently rubbish (like Villa!).

Totally off topic - but trying to sort my fantasy team, is Knockaert going to be starting for you lot this season? Assumed you would be relatively unchanged despite going up.

He is our best player so yes. We have signed a couple of wingers in the past fortnight but ATM it would take a lot to displace Knocky.

Is he just back from injury then or what? I thought he was going to start at the weekend. What about old man Murray, he likely to be up to much?

I'll stop shitting up the thread after this

Knockaert wasn't quite fit after a spell of injury. The view, I think, was that there was little point risking him in a game we probably weren't going to get anything from. I'd expect him to start against Leicester if he's anything close to 100%.

I personally think Murray might get 15 goals this season, I'd be surprised if he got anymore.

Looks like we are prepared to spend a fair amount on a striker...

Great result vs Boro. Britt got a very rough reception all game long from over 26k there. Missed 3 1 on 1's, was booked and had a late goal disallowed for being offside.

Thought we were very good first half and deservedly led 1-0 at HT. Boro were much more on the front foot but couldn't break us down until after we went 2 up.

Overall 3 wins from 4 is very pleasing. Bring on Leeds next week

Great result today and a half decent performance . If George Thorne can come back and perform to his potential, things might not be looking quite so glum after all.

A win at Valley Parade is a strawberry floating good - if belated - start. Hoping this will kick us into high gear.

Good result for Villa today but I'm not too worried about them picking up points at Villa Park as we did that all last season. The thing I enjoyed the most was seeing them actually play for two halves instead of one for once.

Now if we can just improve our away form, we could be on to something. Also nice to see Conor get a hat-trick. That will do no end of good for his confidence going forward.

What's Hogan like? He's decided to play for Ireland.
