What is the rationale behind that ABBA penalty ordering bollocks. Totally missed that was a thing, seems mental.

I'd guess it's probably to stop penalty shootouts being so favourable to whichever team goes first.

4 games away (I think the semi-final is two legged?) now from this prediction coming true: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36962717

It just seems lopsided no? If the first taker misses, the two opposing players then score, I'd think there would be way more pressure on the next player than in the normal flow...

The draw for the Carabao (sp?) is going well then.

It was supposed to be live on Twitter at 4pm, but "technical difficulties" mean it will not happen until at least 5pm.

How complicated is it to pull balls out of a hat? ;)

I've joined the media team at West Didsbury & Chorlton. Doing match reports and that. Here are my first three if anyone's interested in reading

18/10 - West 0-2 Barnoldswick Town
21/10 - West 0-3 West Auckland Town
23/10 - Maine Road 1-4 West

This is like some kind of terrible nightmare. Closing in on 11 months without a home win now.

Sorry to keep bleating on about it, but that is just terrible.

This is an odd thing to say but I feel sorry for kids in the area who are just getting into football and are being brought up to support Sunderland. I started going to games when I was about 10, which coincided with Peter Reid building the Quinn/Phillips team that were so good, and they are still my best memories of live football. The club seemed so positive back then, an enthusiastic exciting team in a shiny new stadium. It must be such a chore to go and watch this current shower.

Kieran Dowell.

What a future this lad has. Everton will have a star on their hands when they get him back from us. A wand of a left foot and composure on the ball far beyond his meagre years.

1 point off the playoffs :datass:
