I have no idea how many players you have on the books, but I’d imagine it’s more than us. Injuries and suspensions have left us in a weakened state.

Villa obviously deserve their win though! It wasn’t a surprise that we lost, the size of the loss was surprising!!

Actually we're pretty screwed too.

We have academy players O’Hare and Hepbrn-Murphy starting on our bench the last few games due to a lack of first team alternatives.

Think Bruce started today with the exact same eleven as the Middlesbrough game.

9 of our players have played in pretty much every single game this season.

I am really not trying to deflect away from Villa’s achievement today, winning 5-0 is always a cracking result! I expected to lose today but not like that, all credit to Villa for ripping us apart.

I am hoping that today will result in some strengthening during the transfer window, we have a billionaire owner so he may well decide that this is the time to spend. Being 4th and in a cup semi-final will also help attract players. Hopefully any newbies fit in and don’t unbalance the squad though!

Fair enough.

The top 6 is certainly interesting right now. The only absolute seems to be Wolves winning the league. :x

Will be at Wembley this week to see Wimbledon thrash Spurs. Coming off a good win today and some New Year's momentum. Fingers crossed.

I can live with that, them and villa going up. baggies going down, and hopefully blues.

Apparently Kevin De Bruyne was shocked at how well he played in the Carabao Cup.

I am not looking forward to tonight.

If Villa can do us 5-0, Man City are going to hit a cricket score. And I don't mean an England cricket score. :dread:

I see you've signed Liam Walsh.

Lot of Everton fans disappointed he has left. http://www.toffeeweb.com/season/17-18/news/36054.html

I don't know anything about him so it's hard to say whether Lee Johnson has made a good signing. We need players in so hopefully he fits in well and eases up some of the pressure we are under.

It's always good news if the fans of the old club are disappointed with the player leaving though!

Great result today but to be honest Blues would have comfortably deserved a 2-0 lead going into half time if Lady Luck had been of the opposite persuasion. We really turned it up for about 10 minutes in the second half, got another goal and saw it out from there really. Lovely build up to the third goal.

Obviously it's great that we're sitting in 2nd place on such a fantastic run of form, but I can't help thinking our luck is a whisker away from turning around and seeing us fall apart.
