What's better 3ds or Ps Vita?

A friend wants to buy one of these for a gamer buddy, he asked me what I think, I dont know gooseberry fool about them, I'm an xbox man myself.

Any help would be great.

Both of them are completely different to one another.

I own both and I enjoy the 3DS more.....It all depends on what type of games they enjoy really

I'd go for a 3DS. VITA is technically nice and all but it tries too hard to cater for home console experiences. The 3DS has a genuine on-the-move catalogue of games for all tastes.

I'd say they are both excellent platforms. Vita is better and has a great library, but it doesn't really have a future. 3DS has a great library and has some great games coming next year.

So I guess 3DS is the correct answer.

I prefer the Vita over the 3DS, but then like others say the games are pretty thin at the moment.

It depends on which exculsives he would like to have. Nintendo's? Or Sony's?

Your platformers and puzzle games currently..... Another good thing with 3DS is backwards compatibility if your buddy has never owned a DS he will also have access to one of the greatest console libraries of all time!

I think he may have a ps3 already, does that make much difference when choosing?

Perhaps, if he's got PS Plus. He can get Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and Gravity Rush (Mortal Kombat is soon-ish) and some digital only games for free.

3DS is good, but on the Vita's graphics are tighter on the third level.

Does he want a handheld with a future? If so it has to be buy a 3DS.

I do love my Sony products, but for me it has to be a 3DS XL and only the XL. Some brilliant games and although the hardware is inferior, it has better games more suited to the handheld platform.

Honestly, since I got my Vita, I haven't touched my 3DS. The future for the 3DS looks considerably brighter though.

I prefer the 3DS. The Vita is just like a portable PS3, just play PS3 at home. The 3DS has more decent games as well

The Vita because it has an accounts system for purchasing digital titles that actually belongs in the year of our lord 2012.
