Never played FM as the genre didn't really appeal to me. However after listening to an episode of Quickly Kevin Will He Score I kind of want to give it a go.
I'm not dropping £30-40 on a game I might hate so that rules out 2018 or 2019. I got a copy of 2013 from a charity shop but it's got a single use Steam code so I assume it won't work (I'll give it a go on the off chance it was an unwanted present). My options are therefore finding a pre-Steam version, or FM 2019 on Android (I have £20 Play Store credit and nothing to spend it on). Is the mobile version a good enough recreation of the full game for me to see if I'll like it, or will I be wasting my money?
I used to love football manager games. I've enjoyed Football Manager (C64), Premier Manager (Amiga), Championship Manager '93 (Amiga) and O'Leary Manager (GBC). But... in "recent" years I've always found Football Manager to be unfathomable (PC/Mac version; although, to be fair, I last played it around 2005) and pretty poor (mobile version). Tbh honest the complexity level of Championship Manager (Amiga) was just about right for me.
