It looks likely at the moment, £28million for a 29 year old would be great business for Real and he would make a good defensive signing for Man U. If he wants to go then I would imagine that Real would be happy with the deal.

Despite him doing a great job keeping them up, the owners probably want to try and avoid another relegation battle and think they can get someone else in who'll keep them more secure. Maybe. Shame though, he probably deserved to stay on with them.
