World Club Cup?

United fans - successful season? We were talking about this earlier. I say yes. Two trophies and champions league football next season.

It all hinged on last night's result. Win and its a successful season. Lose and it's a disappointing and financially costly one.

Anyone who doesn't think this is a very successful season for Manchester United is an idiot.

Theres plenty to work on, but as a work in progress season its gotta be up there with the best of them!

Everyone was fawning over Sevilla a couple of seasons ago, and United have basically just matched that. Its a great achievement.

I'm happy with the results of the season. Two trophies, CL football. Top four would have been nice but there's no trophy for 2nd down so I think concentrating on the Europa was a good decision.

That was because Sevilla won the tournament three years in a row.

But irrespective of that, yes, great season for United and a great achievement.

We really lack a proper central midfielder.

Also no Rooney, and he isn't injured.

Well yes, but the point stands. To win the Europa League you have to be a pretty damn good team.

And 3 right backs

The Sun are now reporting (though it's been rumoured for a day now) that a close friend of Allardyce's was involved in the Manchester incident this week, which would explain the sudden change of mind and departure as well as what was mentioned in his statement...

So many things are bigger than football, and that tends to be forgotten very easily :(

Southgate will probably pick Dier in midfield despite him playing the vast majority of the season at centre back in a back 3.

I'd actually quite like to see what would happen if you were allowed to play with 2 goalkeepers and 1 less outfield player.

So Monaco have signed that Youri Tielemans from Anderlecht. Superb young team they've got down there, hopefully it doesn't get dismantled this summer.

He hasn't won the super cup. Pretty sure we lost to Zenit in 2008.

I hope he doesn't get another chance to win it if I'm being honest. Want him gone.

Surprised Man City have released Willy Cabarello. Surely that means the outstanding statue Bravo is staying.

Champions league will be more interesting next season for English teams. No Arsenal to do their usual last 16 act. Jose has a good record in it. Liverpool tend to do better in bigger games, so you fancy them to cause teams like Bayern more problems than Arsenal have in recent years. Chelsea should definitely be in the last 8 and I expect Pep to improve as well. I'm a bit unsure about Spurs. Wembley shouldn't be used as a excuse next season. I was also a bit miffed that they spent all that effort trying to qualify for it the previous season and then decided to rest players for league games once they were in the actual competition.

Arsenal also should try hard for the Europa league because it's a very good chance for them to get their first European trophy.
