Do corners not count as assists anymore? Regardless, we've had out centre back taking them for the past year so it will be nice to have someone else who can take them.

I see myself as more of a wrench to be honest.

I can't say if he's good or not, he did nothing in 2 legs against Liverpool but he should take Mata's place I presume.

He scored in one of the legs and got an assist in the other. But let's not facts get in the way of anything.

He took a corner for the assist to Hummels Unmarked and his goal was after migs palmed it out to him on the 6 yard line, but lets not let facts get in the way of anything.

Spanner.

Why are you signing your own posts?

So apparently Palace have had a bid of €38 million accepted for Michy Batshuayi, plus agreed stuff for Mandanda and €15m for Andros Townsend (l'Equipe)

That's utterly insane if those 3 come off... Doubt it though, but one can dream...

They would be some incredible signings.

Photek, I don't understand your point about Mkhitaryan, so what that United fans know more of him now than two years ago? That's kind of how football works. Two years ago I couldn't tell you who Mane was but now I'm looking forward to Liverpool hopefully signing him.

I reckon Southampton must have a column in their financial projections just titled "Liverpool - at least £30m per annum"

Seems like Chelsea have now had a £31m bid for Michy batshuayi. Spurs have also had the same bid accepted but clearly he will sign for Chelsea on double the wages.

If there's one thing Chelsea are good at it's snatching players from the jaws of another team, fair play to them.

So, not content with being Liverpool's unofficial feeder club, Southampton have gone and hired a manager who's last name is pronounced "pool".

It'll be fun. At least for a while. Not sure he's what we need, but as others have said, it's Zlatan, who cares.

I'm just glad there's going to be some personality in the league this season, the Prem is so lacking for stand-out characters. They're all like corporate robots. Liverpool need to bring back Mario and we'll have all the entertainment we need.
