Sounds like everyone was watching the wrong game. The Spurs V Dortmund game was really good. Great performance from Spurs.

Liverpool didn't tap up Van Dijk anymore than other teams tap up players. The Southampton line was just that, a line.

I thought players only had agents?

Coutinho got a great reception from the Barca Liverpool fans.

Yeah I thoroughly enjoyed that match. Spurs were fortunate the second Dortmund goal was disallowed for no reason but otherwise was a very accomplished performance.

They were outright speaking to him  , everyone else at least goes through the agent or family so they don't technically break the rules.

I strongly dislike Southampton...but Liverpool were definitely tapping him up and rightly denied his services.

Funny that after the Premier League investigated it found no evidence to the alleged tapping up.

Hmmm makes you think.

Please link me the evidence my dude?

That's not what happened. The Premier League didn't investigate because Liverpool issued a formal statement apologising and withdrawing their interest in VVD and so Southampton didn't follow through with their threat of submitting the evidence they had.

As the matter was resolved between the clubs the PL didn't bother doing anything more.

If there wasn't any evidence, why did Liverpool publicly apologise and drop their interest?

Or, all the clubs do it so it would open a can of worms. We're also ignoring Irene seemingly knowing Klopp was down the local with Virgil with no evidence..... at all....

Settle down man.
“Liverpool Football Club would like to put on record our regret over recent media speculation regarding Southampton Football Club and player transfers between the two clubs,” said the statement. “We apologise to the owner, board of directors and fans of Southampton for any misunderstanding regarding Virgil van Dijk. We respect Southampton’s position and can confirm we have ended any interest in the player.”

An arse covering manoeuvre cos Liverpool are under an actual investigation for tapping up a 13Yr old player. Statement appeases Saints and everyone can move on. No admission of talking directly to the player.

We could have pulled out the exact same card v Barca. Van Dijk just like Coutinho, shouldn't have signed a 5 year deal.

If they didn't tap him up, why did Liverpool stop going after him?

Photek's defence is as convincing as Liverpool's.

I never said they didn't tap him up?

Everyone does it, Liverpool just let the media go mental by not denying it.
