I think that they took the lead in that game, could have had more, and defended stoutly afterwards, which is completely reasonable for a side with their budget and quality of players on the pitch.

Manchester United fans have enjoyed amazing attacking football with great success for many years.
The fans of this club have come to expect this style of football, and look forward to watching this style.
Fans of clubs like Burnley have come to expect defensive football with long balls, and support their team heartily with songs and chants even when they play "boring" football. Believe me, I saw it in person when they eked out a draw at Anfield.
