I wonder why Lukaku was Chelsea's first choice/why Manchester United would rather have Lukaku than Morata :?

Jose and Lukaku has been working together before and Lukaku has the experience of Premier League. Morata doesn't.

My guess.

Morata has played under Jose too and has the added advantage of experience and success at big teams.

Yeah, of course but the physically side of Premier League. Can Morata cope with it? I doubt it.

That's the type of bullshit Paul Merson would come up with. He's 6 foot 3, hardly a little Spaniard. Technical plays excel in the premier league. The players who flop like Di Maria are the lazy ones who can't be bothered to put the work in. Morata doesn't seem like that.

Sounds like something Ray Wilkins would say.

Bit late with this, but...

That was a nice 2nd goal by Lukaku for Manchester United.

I think the main reason United decided to go for Lukaku is because they were being pissed around by Madrid for Morata. If you look how quickly they did the deal with Chelsea and for ten million less than United were quoted at - considering how desperate Chelsea were. Lukaku is proven in the prem and I think that is a big factor but the stalling by Madrid will have helped United decide quickly when it became clear he might come to us.

I just hope we are even more difficult if they come back for De Gea. Classless twats.

Players need to adapt to the different physical aspect and demands of the premier league. This is not a myth or a meme trotted out by Wilkins, Merson et al. It's an actual thing. He'll get roughed up by quite a few centre halves and be playing a much faster game than he's used to. Saying it isn't a factor and that he wont need to acclimatise is pretty foolish. He looks a class player and will probably do very well but he's never been the main striker has he? Chelsea have basically hung a lot of their hopes on him if Costa does in fact go.

Oh god. Seems like the club has a very short memory. Love the design, though.

Arsenal told they can’t bring Olivier Giroud on vs Chelsea as he’s not named on team sheet
