Does Maf think the Manu chant is racist or not?

Instead of discussing it he googles 'Kenny Dalglish Suarez' cos he got triggered that someone said something negative about Manu.

Yes it’s a dumb chant that plays on a strawberry floating stupid racist stereotype.

Just thought a Liverpool Football Club fan criticising Man U fans for being racist was a bit odd when their own manager and the club as a whole publicly backed (in an extremely embarrassing fashion) a player found guilty of basically calling a other player the equivalent of a ****** in his own language, that’s all.

He just linked an article with a bait line. On the chant itself, It's on a par with the Ji-sung park in terms of how offensive it is. I'm sure it will stop now.

Mouth-breathing football fans of all clubs are just the worst. Wouldn't want to be trapped in a lift with any of them.

So I don’t “do a Photek”, I had a look on one of my clubs forums to see what the melters over there thought of the Lukaku song.

:dread:

Honestly never occurred to me it was racist.

Yeah it's no wonder I can't sleep at night.
The things I have to worry about in these modern times!!!

The snowflakes of the world find something new to whinge about.

What a load of b0ll0x!
PC Brigade are out and about again then.

It's not remotely racist, a ridiculously over used word at the moment.

Perhaps instead of doing the usual " left wing saint" thing and taking offence on behalf of other people, they could execise common sense and actually ask Lukaku (or indeed any black person on this planet) if the chant offends them?
It isn't even racial stereotyping because black people do indeed have on average bigger manhoods than white men.

Also can we sing about white players having large cocks? and if so does the fact we can't sing it about black players make us racist again?

Personally I wouldnt have brought race into it. It's a dumb song not worthy of giving it national attention. Well done on making sure more idiots come out of the woodwork to sing it.

I didn't actually think of the racial aspect.
Surely Mafro is living proof that there is no link between Ethnicity and penile length?

I don't find it offensive but I can see why someone would. Mind you - I love the Giggs chant about his infidelities so hey ho.

I love that mafro used the Suarez card of course.

Where would we be without double standards and delicious irony.

And Photek to use them on?

Is the chant racist? Sure. Is it hate speech? Nah. It perpetuates a racial stereotype (and therefore, reinforces a racial divide, or the idea that "they are different to us"), but it's not derogatory.

So, while you shouldn't beat yourself up about singing it, you should really stop. Nobody's saying you are a racist person whose racist singing of a racist chant is their prominent character trait, but if you don't cut it out after being made aware of the issue with it, they may begin to.

Blue Eyes wrote:“I played with Park Ji-sung at Man United, and they have similar qualities. Their attitude is fantastic. They give energy to their team”

Phil Neville said this comparing Park to Son at Spurs and it made my blood boil.

Two things, Phil:

1. Park and Son are not similar players at all. Being from the same country does not make them similar.

2. You left Man Utd the same summer they signed Park, you banana split.

I really hate this guy. He was a miserable footballer and an even worse pundit who just says gooseberry fool that is blatantly wrong, never justifies his unthinking guff, and perhaps most infuriatingly is never challenged.

McManaman is the worst. His commentary for Liverpool vs Sevilla was disgraceful.

Atleast G Neville is neutral. But you may as well call it LFC TV when McManaman is commentating. He saw the clear foul by Salah on the Sevilla player before Liverpools goal and said there was no contact. When the replay in front of him showed otherwise.

It's an infantile song. Pure and simple.
I chuckled when I heard like you often do at something tittilatory.

It's a knob gag but as pointed out - it has that reference that can easily lead to a darker place. No pun intended.

Working for the NHS - I deal with this kind of stuff a lot.

It's tricky.

P Neville is the same when it comes to Manu, he's insufferably biased. The worst pundit when it comes to bias is Peter Schmeichel but he doesn't get a lot of gigs these days thank god.
