From one angle, there was obvious contact which makes you think it should've been awarded as a penalty. Was it a clear and obvious error from the referee not to give one? Probably not as he leaves his foot in there to be caught. Is there some sort of "soft signal" like in cricket when using technology to see if a catch has carried? Or in rugby... "Is there any reason I cannot award the try?"

Contact being the deciding factor for a penalty is stupid though, otherwise any tackle that brushes someone would be one...

It's much like people appealling for handball when it's meant to be deliberate...

Also this ref

I'm not sure that one on Morata wasn't a penalty but this is amazing, strawberry float Chelsea

May be a stupid question, but how does this influence penalties if it gets to nine-all?

I think Norwich can only nominate nine players to take the penalties.

That first half was deathly dull, but this second half has been epic stuff.

Gotcha. Cheers lads. Would it not make sense to intentionally have your three worst penalty takers sent off in the 120th minute of ET then if you can deal with the suspensions?

Wouldn’t that be punishing the side that didn’t get any players sent off?

I’m happy for the fa to clone this ref and use him in every game.

This is brilliant.

I actually think the Willian one was more of a pen than the Morata one. Total farce at the end either way.

Possibly, but it means Norwich don't have to use their two worst penalty takers.

I guess if they have to nominate 11 they’ll have their keeper, for example, taking a sudden death pen with Chelsea’s fist choice penalty taker otherwise.
