Of course, England will limp to the last sixteen and lose to a smaller nation on penalties, but what's the point in having a world cup if you can't get excited about the potential?
Last 16? I’m not really positive about that especially after seeing the seedings. There’s a lot of teams in pot 1 and 3 that could cause us problems. The only positive is we avoid Spain, Croatia and Uruguay. The only team in pot 1 that we may have a chance of beating is the team that is hosting the tournament and we couldn’t beat them in the Euros.
We struggle against big teams. But we hardly brilliant against the smaller teams.
Also I still remember a lot of people hyping us up before the Euros after beating Germany away in a friendly.
I don’t really see the positives. We struggle to score and with that defence I don’t see us keeping many clean sheets in competitive matches. The centre midfield is very weak. Someone mentioned they don’t miss the days of Gerrard/Lampard debate. But at the moment we miss a player like Gerrard.
