Sampson sacked, turns out he's a bit of a banana split. Ta-rah!

He has been cleared by two inquiries. The Football Association is reinvestigating after accepting that its first two inquiries were insufficient on the basis that neither of them had felt it necessary to interview Drew Spence about what Sampson allegedly said to her at the China Cup in October 2015.

There are also allegations about his conduct while at Bristol Academy. I'm not sure what he's supposed to have done, but it looks like the evidence is mounting that he's a banana split.

Not only did they not speak to the person Sampson possibly made the racist remarks to, but the FA later refused to hand over the video tape (of the team meeting where it happened) which was in part used to clear him! Something seriously strange going on. That, or FA strawberry floated up and are now furiously trying to cover their tracks... by sacking him for possible safeguarding violations?!

The timing for this couldn't be better considering what was being discussed for the past few pages: Mark Chapman actually complained that teams were playing too many squad players and not enough youth in the League Cup. Yes, you read that correctly, he's complaining that teams are fielding strong squads in the League Cup.

Going on the limited info so far released I would say that Sampson would have a very good legal case against the Fa.

Other than the stories about him, the Sampson guy seemed to be an absolute prick generally.

The FA would never try to cover up something that would make them look bad. Never.

After speaking to a friend who plays in WSL1 (the Women's Premier League), it sounds like he's slept with underage girls. Expect more to come out in the near future.

Niasse scored for Everton. Fair play to the guy for getting this far, he's been treated like gooseberry fool by the club.

To add to the above - apparently the FA knew about this and gave him a fake "girlfriend" to help cover it all up.

So I assume he was accused of sleeping with underaged girls but no charges were ever bought due to a lack of evidence but the FA decided that there was no smoke without fire or that they felt that there was enough evidence to suggest that he would put himself into circumstances that they felt he should not be in.

So potentially another nonce :fp:

Daniel Taylor is properly going in on him and the FA which is great to see https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... iel-taylor

:dread:

Cannot even begin to imagine how that lot who were hugging him yesterday have been feeling like this evening. Given the potential allegations against him you'd have thought the FA may have warned the players of what was coming. "Minds on the game" be damned.

Again, though, not to exonerate him of his other behaviour but if i read correctly the FA still maintain he didn't break the law. So although he appears to be a total banana split that woild suggest he hasn't been a nonce.

Well the La Liga title race is over in September.

Really surprised by Madrids lack of recruitment. They let players like Morata, James and Pepe go without replacing them. Their squad was a lot stronger last season.
