Pretty sweet away kit for Palace (bar the sponsor).

I had always like Hodgson before he became England manager but he was an absolute joke last summer. That was the lowest ebb ever. Just after Brexit our football team went out and humiliated our already disgraced nation even further. Just thinking about that night again fills me with indecent rage. strawberry float England.

Can't say we (Liverpool fans) didn't warn you!

His record was poor:

European Championships 2012 - Beaten on Penalty's but were essentially played off the park by Italy after scraping through the group.
World Cup 2014 - Beaten AGAIN by Italy, beaten by Urugay and drawing with strawberry floating Costa Rica.
European Championships 2012 - 2 draws and an injury time winner v Wales then knocked out by Iceland...

He should have been sacked after the world cup, no idea why he wasn't.

He really should have gone after the World Cup, even if it was a fairly tricky group. To not even have a chance of getting through by the time they faced Costa Rica was appalling. I seem to remember Gerrard being at fault in the Uruguay game. Thanks Liverpool!

At the World Cup, I'm pretty sure after the final game the Italian manager resigned in his press conference and apologised.

Hodgson on the other hand said he was pleased they'd given the travelling fans something to cheer about. After a 0-0 draw with Costa Rica :slol:

My interest in England had gone long before that fateful night in wherever-the-match-was-played, but that was truly the nadir of England in my lifetime (worse than not qualifying for WC94 or EU08).

I used to love watching England matches, but fell almost completely out of love with the national side in 2010. That appalling game against the USA, then the strawberry floating diabolical game versus Algeria and then a boring game again Slovenia. :dread: It was a strawberry floating relief really to get thumped by Germany.

strawberry float England.

The problem is England have not pulled off even a minor shock at a major tournament for 20 years. No wonder people have had enough!

My interest in international football took a general hit after the BS excuse I heard from FIFA this morning re Russia doping: The outcome of this investigation will not affect Russia hosting the WC because doping is an individual offence. Yeah, great, expcept for the fact you're investigating potential state sponsored doping of the football team, you sleazy strawberry float.

Despite not giving a gooseberry fool about England, I'm watching the under 21s semi final.

Well that was a bit gooseberry fool in the end. Overall Germany were probably the better team though.

Boothroyd was very naive in thinking that England could play without the ball for over 30 minutes and keep a one goal lead

Interested to hear your thoughts on him Moggy as he looks certain to be playing for the Swans next season and I know nothing about him except he banged them in last season for your lot

He was the difference between us staying up and being rock bottom of the league.

I think he's amazing but then I've only really seen him at Championship level, the step up to the Prem will be interesting.

I hope he does well, he's got bags of talent and seems to have the right attitude on the pitch. Just don't let him drive a car. ;)
