As textbook an away win as you’ll ever likely see.

He’s a scally, but I quite like Steve McManananaman as co-commentator.

The FA Cup and League Cup draws have so obviously been fixed this season. All the big teams avoiding each other until the semifinals again.

I didn’t watch the game so I’m a little confused by the offside call. It was offside (ever so marginal) by the looks of things but what’s the issue? That it took ages to make the decision and they released a dodgy picture to the tv studios?

If we don't go through because of that

To be fair the line's bending to make Mata less offside

Considering that Mata was offside anyway, what's the controversy again?

Useless idiot pundits making a big deal over nothing really... Maybe they should draw some lines or whatever see if they can make them straight...

The video actually annoyed me the way they went on about how because the ref wasn't at the ground it makes his decision less valid? Even though it's there to see?

To be fair that wasn’t the lines that the refs back in the basement were using. I think that was due to BT cocking up.

I understand people moaning about the time it takes for decisions. But the best solution is a challenge systems similar to tennis. Seems when VAR is being used that teams are going to appeal for any decision or the ref starts using it for no apparent reason. Each team gets 2 or 3 challenges per matches and they lose one if the challenge is a fail.

Also football really needs to just stop the clock when there is a stoppage or when the ball is out of play.

I heard that on the radio this morning  :fp: If that's the case then fair enough. But! I also read that the whole point of VAR was to overrule obvious incorrect decisions. A kneecap being offside is hardly an obvious mistake.

You are right that is supposed to be when VAR is used but I suppose the problem is the bloke watching the game on tv obviously thought it was offside in real time so he radioed the ref and said I need to review this as it looked offside to him. Then only on super slow mo, zooming in can he tell for certain that it was offside.

It’s that or the person watching the game was reviewing every offside decision, if that’s the case then that’s not supposed to be how it works.

For me when we started over analysing decisions that require a massive use of technology to come to a decision that’s when football was ruined. Well that and the repeated play acting and diving.

That was a penalty against Alderweireld.

Little teams say they're going to come out and play football against top six sides and you think "Yeah alright treacle", but Rochdale have been good here.

In a three minute interview he managed to say "Y'know" so many times that I (a) noticed, (b) started counting, and (c) lost count after about twelve.

Beckham and Rio used to be bad for that as well.
