The Football Thread 2017-18

This time last week everyone was convinced he'd end up at City. Funny how things can change so quickly. Loved how none of the English journalists had a clue about it and it was Di Marzio in Italy that broke it :lol:

The swap is a win-win for United, getting one of the best attacking players in the league in exchange for someone that's stank up the place for most of the season and clearly didn't fit into the team anymore. Shame it didn't work out for him at United but he's a good fit for Arsenal.

Sanchez is a superb player but, as he'd made up his mind that he wanted to go, I'm kinda glad that he has finally moved now. During this season his attitude hasn't been up to the exemplary standards that he had set in past years.

Feels kinda odd that he's ended up at Man United, though. He made it pretty clear in the summer that Man City was his choice. I wonder if City's wage structure was really the barrier to him joining? And how will the other United players feel about him getting such high wages?

Won't be an issue for the vast majority of 'em. I mean Pogba was the highest earner before now and I don't think his wages have affected the rest of the team in any discernible way. Pogba will likely want parity asap.

I won’t believe that Sanchez is on that much or that united paid a £20m fee to arsenal and £15m to the agent until I see a statement from either united or arsenal. Until then these figures might as well be bollocks. Some papers are claiming he could be earning £600k a week when bonuses are factored in. I don’t believe it personally.
