Not gonna read it now, but this caught my eye:

He is not impressed with whistleblowers in general, even criticising Yuliya Stepanova, who had recently exposed the Russian state doping of athletes, the great scandal breaking over athletics. “She wants to go to the Olympics, and now everybody says it is a shame she can’t go because she is a whistleblower. Before long whistleblowers will be allowed to go to everything,” he sneered. “Because if you are a whistleblower, it’s not correct as well.”

Startled by that statement, I asked him to clarify; was he saying whistleblowers are not correct?

“No,” he confirmed. “At school, if you had somebody who was a whistleblower towards the tutor, then ...” and he trailed off, as if it was obvious.

“Do you still think that?” I asked.

“Yes.”

“That they are like a snitch in school?”

“Yes, yes,” he said.

:fp: /  Cry harder.

You laugh but I would say that the majority of adults still have this attitude towards 'snitching'. If you are doing something wrong it's not the person reporting you who is at fault.

Linfield have drawn Celtic in the Champions League if they beat their San Marino opponents in the first round. If they do get through, Celtic will have to play in Belfast on 11/12 July, which is going to be a policing nightmare for all involved. :dread:

Is this to do with the Eleventh Night/The Twelfth? Any chance of the game being moved?

You've got to think there's absolutely zero chance Celtic will be playing in Belfast on that matchday - the police will have a pretty large say in that and may well refuse to police it, which would call the game off. Maybe. :slol:

The match would never happen on the 12th of July. For a start the police are already thinly stretched that day adding a Celtic vs Linfield game just wouldn't be good for anyone. Plus there would be very few Celtic fans who would actually make it to the game given were the stadium is and the crowds that will be about that day and of course the most important point, the Linfield players couldn't march in the parade [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

They could swap the ties around couldn't they so it's in Glasgow on 11th or 12th? Presumably that's going to be quite a difficult tie to police regardless!

And then some more. They literally could not pick a worse team to play during the Twelfth. Think Rangers would have been preferable

Thought it couldn't get worse than drawing a Greek and Turkish team in the Europa League last year

It'll be fine, our new DUP masters will organise a match just before the match to calm things down....

Could you imagine him in courtt though? The stubborn stroppy answers that he would give. He would probably get arrested for contempt of court as well as he refuses to answer a question and tries to storm out.

RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg can both play in the Champions League next season, Uefa has confirmed.

This is fairly significant, now all the global megaclubs have no reason to not purchase multiple European teams, it's already going on at a lower level with stuff like Watford's owners but we could now see effective feeder teams drawing their parent clubs in knockout competition.

Hmmm. Wording could be taken either way. It's a bit like Trump saying he wasn't under criminal investigation; it didn't mean he was clear, just that he wasn't being looked at the time.
