5-2 is still a great result.

Salah is god.

for the neutral 5-2 is a much better result than when it looked like Liverpool were going to run away with 6+ - 0

If they can beat Barca 3-0 at home, they can beat Liverpool 3-0 at home.

I think Liverpool will be fine but it has certainly made the second leg more of an exciting prospect.

Didn't see a single second of the game. Knew it'd be a corker. Liverpool's to lose and if anyone is going to score and break the duck for this season at Roma - it's Liverpool. Galling as it feels - hats off to them. Shame they shipped those last two though.

I reckon that’s Chamberlain done for season and world cup. He couldn’t even walk.

I’d fancy this Liverpool team to score at least one in the second leg, trouble is I could also see them conceding 4. ;)

Liverpool should be fine, 5-2 is one hell of an advantage to take into the second leg.

Is it one hell of an advantage? Isn't it technically almost the same as 2-0 with the away goals rule? If Roma only score two then then are okay but if they score three with no reply they are out.

Obviously the odds are still in Liverpool's favour due to them having the lead on the board. But if Roma grab a goal in the first 10 mins or so, how nervy are people going to get? A 3-0 home win in Rome is hardly a once-ina-lifetime occurrence. Liverpool are in control but the fact they scored five is dampened and negated somewhat by those 2 late goals. Just beating Roma 3-0 last night would have been better.

I'd say going into a game 5-2 up is a pretty damn good advantage. Better than if it had been 0-0, 1-0, 2-0, 1-1, 2-2, 0-1 or 0-2.

On current form, I honestly think Salah is the best player in the world. What he's doing at the moment is stunning, I can't think of a player doing what he's doing for Liverpool in recent memory. He's easily eclipsed Torres and Suarez.

Roma manager reckons the formation wasn't the problem and will likely play a high line again in Rome. I hope he does.

It helps that Salah isn’t a racist that likes to bite people.

Parksey veering into HSH territory there.

I can see Parksey's point - the game certainly isn't won and it's far from out of the question that Roma could come back in Rome - but Liverpool still have a huge advantage. If they can score one goal they'll seal it, and they were brilliant against City in the last round.

For once I agree with you - Salah is just unplayable this season, everything seems to have clicked for him. I must be honest, I don't especially like Liverpool but I am pulling for them to win the CL simply because they're incredible to watch at the moment under Klopp, who I love. Awesome attacking power but hospital defending at the best of times.

Is it a huge advantage or is it just basically 2-0?

Ah no, I see your point. Liverpool have strawberry floated it - congratulations to Roma on qualifying for the final.

Roma need 3 goals without reply to win the tie. So as pemmistic as it sounds, how is it different from being 2-0 up, bar the fact that a 0-2 reversal won't bring a draw but see Liverpool through? They effectively have something akin to a two goal lead because of that away goal. Had Liverpool won 3-0 last night, that would have been better than scoring five and conceding two away goals.

Of course they have a big advantage, but it's not insurmountable. In the space of a few minutes they went from needing 6 goals to needing 3.

I'm not saying they won't go through, just saying that it won't be a once in a lifetime event if they don't. 0-3 to Roma in Rome is hardly an unbelievable occurrence is it? Especially when they did the same sort of thing against Barcelona.

The tie isn't won yet. As I did, people get distracted by the "5" and are thinking it's all over. It isn't, because of those two late goals Liverpool shipped.

Like I said, if Roma get a goal within the first ten minutes, suddenly their task doesn't quite seem as daunting.

Again, I'm not saying Roma will go through or that the odds are against Liverpool, which some of you don't quite seem to grasp.

Manchester City scored inside the first 2minutes against us and we beat them.

Manchester City are a far superior team to Roma, I have no doubt we will score at least 1, more likly 2 or 3. Unless roma have some mystery defenders to play in the second leg then they are going to concede.

The entire build up to this game was about Salah, his old team, can he deliver etc etc and he ran the game. 2 stunning goals and 2 assists. If Salah plays, we win.

Great stuff from Liverpool last night. Hope they don't strawberry float it up in the second leg.

A win for Arsenal as well tomorrow please.
