If you don't have to pay £60m (or whatever the asking price is) for someone who's clearly pissed off his club then why just cave in?

That being said Palace need to throw money around given that about half the 25 are now injured, and half of that won't play again this season.

In theory I agree with you but Arsenal have a history of strawberry floating about with transfers (Suarez) for decent players only for it all to go wrong and panic buying on the last day of the transfer window.

We've already sold two squad players which has brought in a considerable chunk of the fee so I can't believe that the deal can be allowed to fall through.

It's certainly going to be interesting to see how he gets on at Utd. A very good player but brilliant and frustrating in equal measures. You know that he will give 100% but he will also give the ball away a hell of a lot.

I really hope the rumours aren't true that everything is in place for Aubamayang but the we're holding it over the asking price :fp:

:toot: He'll fit right in!

So not the £180million or so some of the papers were saying

Seriosuly though, can't even remember the last time there was a straight swap deal in one of the top leagues. Last swap (when money was involved) I remember was when Barca and Inter swapped Eto'o and £££ for Zlatan.

How much were they off by?

There was only a small transfer fee, think it was about £30m. It was mainly being made up by agent fees, player signing on bonus and his overall wage package, so it's (going by the calculations being used) still around £150m.

Weird how transfers only get reported like that when it's United involved.

Watford's statement highlighting the downturn in form since they knocked back Evertons approach for Silva says it all really. They were in danger of getting dragged right into the relegation battle and their managers head wasn't in the right place.

They also reported and broke down the deal that city had offered so don't flatter yourself.

Always love the reaction on Redcafe when a player is incoming. They've managed to find Sanchez's plan on flight tracker

Now they said he’s been landed just a few minutes ago. Madness!

I remember this happening on one of the Everton forums a few years ago during the Lukaku transfer, highly entertaining  Some people say true supporters are those who go to games, but the fans tracking down flights of transfer targets are the unsung heroes.
