It was a truly brilliant goal by Bale. I'm so glad it was him who scored it and not bloody Ronaldo.

It's a silly tat (though apparently has a wider context relating to his father's death and a promise to only ever "shoot with my feet" as a result) but it's clear that some sections of the press, particularly the Sun, have it in for him because he's a young black person.

If they genuinely thought it was inappropriate and wrongly glamorised guns they'd not have given it front page coverage.

Calls for him to not play for England unless he has it removed or covered up prove those criticising him know nothing about football, as it'll be hidden under his socks the entire time. No one would ever have seen it, if they hadn't done this.

It’s The Sun, I cant possibly imagine what they would have against Raheem Sterling.....

Linekar retweeted that and it’s basically true. I saw one article about him shopping at primark.

The media were quick to jump on the FA for their ridiculous tweet about Kane being in Smallings pocket and demanded they apologise. I’m not sure they’d be doing that if Sterling had been on the end of that tweet.

I know this isn't the religion thread, but did anyone else enjoy the deep irony of Salah praying to his god before the final, only to then get injured soon after and see his team beaten by cruel misfortune?

I guess He works in mysterious ways ¯\(°_o)/¯

An Egyptian paper reported his family had sacrificed 3 cows.

Unfortunately, Ramos’ family sacrificed 4.

Kinda surprised at the fee Monaco got for Fabinho, he's had a pretty shocking season for them compared to the one before although it's more a case of looking disinterested than outright looking bad

Sterling has been a bit of a tit a few times, but that's really low from the papers there...

I’m not seeing the issue. It’s his money, if he wants to put a barber’s shop, a barbershop quartet or a bar and a shop in his house, who are we to judge?

Or for that matter, care?

Sterling work by the nation’s best newspaper.

In other news, United seem to be about to sign a young Porto right back, hopefully to eventually replace Valencia.
