So apparently Mane is out for 6 weeks, so that'll be both Liverpool and Man United without their best players going into the big game at the weekend.

Fellaini :(

strawberry float sake. Always lose players following banana spliting internationals. Not hopeful for the weekend at all :dread:

I'd have thought you'd be happier about Sanchez having the summer off.

USA are out as well thanks largely to those great goals:

For Trinidad

For Panama

Well he proved his point, plainly Concacaf is harder to get out of than I thought.

First time since 1986 the US failed to qualify.

I wouldn't be surprised if something came out of the Panama goal not crossing the line. Losing the US is a huge financial hit for Fifa both immediately in terms of tv audience and mid term in terms of the popularity of the sport in the states.

Denster wrote:If only they had one great player. The best player the world has ever seen. Surely he could get them out of this. If only ... I bet they wish they had someone like Messi.

Oh wait...

That'll be another World Cup where he emphatically underlines his lack of greatness at International level.

At least he won't actually be there this time instead of just playing like he isn't.
Good thing he showed up last night.

Messi has been pretty much the only Argentinian player to turn up in these qualifying games - he's been by far their best player and they would have been out of contention ages ago without him. I just assumed at the time he posted it that Denster never watched any of their games.

Nah, they'd just manage to strawberry float up all over again against New Zealand.

EDIT - No, wait, Australia?

Just doesn't feel like a world cup without USA, Arena needs to go.

Amazing.

The US national team are an absolute shambles right now. Trinidad and Tobago only had 3 points from 9 games and nothing to play for. USA v Australia would have been a really interesting tie too.

I conceded a goal on Fifa that was absolutely identical to that Honduras goal last week and raged how much of a joke it was to have that happen :slol:

Can't say I'm fussed about the USA not being there, although it seems a bit unfair that they had to play both Trinidad and Tobago. :shifty: Fox paying $400m for the broadcast rights. :dread: Chile going out is disappointing though, they're usually good to watch. Good to see Iceland qualify too, smallest nation to ever do so. Portugal scraping in is annoying, and Switzerland must be pissed having won all but one of their games and still having to go to the playoffs. :slol:

He certainly did. Obviously he’s a lurker here and used my words as inspiration.

Don’t sign for City, Lionel!
