I disagree, it serves no purpose other than to flaunt ownership of the thread and spoil the match for potential others who follow at a difference pace. There are more losers than winners here. I'm locking the OP.

I've edited the Title 4 times, indicating the end of the transfer window, the start and end of the January one and who won the league. How is that 'flaunting'?

The Title in last years Football Thread had Manchester United Win the FA Cup on the same day but you watched that match so its different I presume?

Seems a wee bit harsh on Photek, to be honest. I can understand that Faceman had planned to watch the highlights but most news media posted the story on the front page of their websites; it's the culmination of the Premier League football season and it doesn't feel like too much of a shock to announce the winning team once it becomes known.

I can’t believe this is real. Maybe we should change the thread title of the us politics thread as well. I now know that trump is like an evil forest gump. I haven’t watched forest gump yet so now so it’s ruined the film for me as I now know that hank dresses up like an orangutan with a blonde wig on and goes around sleeping with prostitutes, paying them millions of dollars but does it with a smile on his face as he’s not evil.

i have match notifications (from google) turned off on my phone for this very reason

yeah the difference is there isnt a politics highlight show where the result of Trump's daily actions is summarised
