So Sam was sacked and Moyes simply served out his contract.

West Ham can't even sack a manager properly. David Gold said yesterday that he hopes Moyes will stay but a day earlier Sullivan was talking to Fonseca. Now today he walks and is probably relieved to be away from this utter circus of a club. This is a big mistake. We have to urgently get a new manager in to quickly assess the squad and then identify targets and ideally try to get them in before the World Cup starts. It's gonna be another miserable season.

Yeah the transfer window is really short this year with the world cup and it ending with start of the Prem league.

Did West Ham fans on the whole want Moyes to stay?

The less stupid ones wanted him to stay, so probably not.

I think he did a good job, from Everton looking like being in a relegation battle to to finishing 8th was a decent enough achievement.

He did what he had to, and that's why he's gone, he done the bare minimum. With youtube fan sites having a few cross over channels too, I now watch Toffee TV, not least cos 2 of my best mates are Everton fans (and ginger guy is genuinely funny). From Their point of view, Sam just didn't get the best out of the players at his disposal.

He took of Cenk Tosun from up front when they trailed 2-0 v Westham and put Walcott on when he could have had both and taken off one of 3 defensive midfielders. They aren't looking to finish in top 4 straight away but just a smidgen of adventure or vision or excitement would do. He did the same thing several times when Everton went behind and even when safe never EVER took a chance on anyone or any new formation.

I always thought Everton was too big a club for for him tbh.

The two players you mentioned are the ones he signed. They were the best signings Everton made in the last two seasons.

I don’t know what Everton fans are expecting.

What is the Everton way? Under Moyes for 11 years they had a few exciting moments. Martinez they had a good first year. But then they wanted him out because they didn’t want to watch their team pass the ball to death.

The fact is they wasted over £100m last season then you include Rooney in that. Bolasie looks done after his serious injury. Schneiderlin has been poor for a few seasons now. Michael Keane has to be one of the worst defenders in the league, I fancy my chances of skipping past him. They signed Klaasen and he barely played. Age has caught up with Baines and Jagielka. Coleman has just returned from injury. Niasse at times can be a footballer.

If Marco Silva thinks he can play attacking football with that lot then fair play to him. That defence will be exposed too much just like at Watford, who were conceding goals for fun even before he was linked with Everton. Is the chairman going to give another £150m? I’m not sure. He’s not rich like Roman or the Sheikh. He sees Everton as a business rather than a play thing.

Big Sam did his job. Everton were in the relegation zone and if established teams like Stoke, WBA and Swansea can go down then there is every chance they would have too. I’m sure all those three clubs would have loved Big Sam coming in. Once he joined Everton they never looked in any danger.

They got Big Sam out. But Rooney might stay as a result. I wish Rooney would do the right thing because I don’t want to see a washed up Rooney in the league because it ruins my memory of his early years.

As for West Ham, as much as I hate to say it they should have just stuck with Moyes. If the season started when he took over they would have finished 8th. He did well considering his keepers weren’t making his life easy and he had lost his centre backs for long periods through injury.

For me, getting rid of Allardyce is the right decision. Evertons owner wants them to compete for a top six place. For that to happen Everton need to recruit exceptionally well and do a great job of bringing through youth players. Given that the financial gap to the big six will probably increase due to their commercial power it's only going to get harder to outdo them in the transfer market so to close the gap a club needs to be better than them at developing youth players which brings me to the key question when it came to deciding Allardyce fate.

Have Evertons good young players, namely Calvert-Lewin, Davies, Holgate and Lookman improved under Allardyce? I'm reasonably confident most people would say they haven't. In that case Allardyce isn't the manager Everton need going forward.

Teams who get rid of Allardyce generally don't fare very well. Hopefully Everton have the funds and playing staff available to buck the trend.

PES Fan, your posts seem to be very patronising. I’ve so many points to make but haven’t the time. You got every single statement you made about Martinez wrong. VERY WRONG.

To be fair those players haven’t look great under three managers last season.

You can have young players coming through. Spurs found a balance with Verthoghen and Alderweireld at the back. Then you have Eriksen and Son in attack.

You can hire any manager you like. But when your defenders are Jagielka, Keane, Williams and Funes Mori then you will have issues. Add to the fact that Baines is 33, so how much will they need to spend on defenders in the summer? If a defensive minded manager like Sam can’t get the best out of them then I don’t see many others.

They signed three number 10s in the summer. They probably will need to fork out big on another goal threat.

Everton were struggling for goals last season so they can’t rely on someone like Calvert Lewis. Not every young striker is going to end up like Kane. The majority go the other way.

Lots of owners want to compete for a top 6 place. West Ham owners were making the same statements a few years back. It took Spurs years to finally challenge the other teams. They signed a few good players from abroad for the right price. But even that is getting harder nowadays. Foreign clubs realise the stupid money prem clubs have and will raise prices even if you are a West Ham or Everton.

Patronising yet hasn’t got the time. Should I stay out of this thread or are you going to PM me too?

If you going to argue with someone then explain why they are wrong because this is why nobody takes you seriously in this thread. You argue like a 10 year old. Writing in caps too. Is that supposed to prove your point?

PES Fan I’ve said before your opinions on clubs other than Manu are mind numbingly stupid, research a is all I ask. I don’t talk much about other clubs cos I don’t watch them. I’m driving home, (just parked up.)

Stop listening to Talk Sport for your opinions.

Its all worth noting that until they started losing, the majority of people in this thread were talking about what good business Everton had done in pre-season.

So still can’t explain where I was wrong? Needs to resort to more insults. Classic Photek tactics. Next you’d be playing the victim.

So you don’t talk much about other clubs, but you are right. Ok, I swear in the past month you been harping on non stop about Spurs. You were discussing Everton earlier in this thread. But you don’t talk about other clubs. Must have been another Photek.

Maybe we should just create a Liverpool thread for you and you could just stay in there. That way you won’t need to discuss other clubs.

Also I preferred it when you had me on ignore. I don’t want to put you on ignore because I’d miss your hilarious opinions and meltdowns.
