The news media seem more interested in their current hatchet job on Labour than the shower of incompetent fuckwits running the country into the ground.

Nothing's changed. Porton Down was never charged with establishing proof of where the nerve agent came from but simply to identify what it was. The government's conclusion was as a result of intelligence from the intelligence agencies, along with the identification of the nerve agent by the experts. It's has always been very clearly stated that based on all the information put together, there's no other plausible explanation other than it coming from Russia. Why this is being presented as though Porton Down was expected to establish a culprit is beyond me.

Because everyone's favourite political fuckwit BoJo said they had done just that. Perhaps if the government knew their arse from their elbow we wouldn't end up in situations like this.

This is what annoys me. The media are focusing on the wrong part of the story. Instead of saying Johnson is an idiot and made an inaccurate statement they are instead implying that we’ve falsely accused Russia. If you read a lot of the comments on a number of the stories it seems that many are now thinking that is the case whereas in fact our governments position and the intelligence has not changed. The information from Porton Down was only ever used to identify the agent used and that was it. How people expected them to magically trace the source by simply testing chemicals is beyond me.

A lot of today's papers seem to be running with the 'PORTON DOWN CAN'T CONFIRM NERVE AGENT FROM RUSSIA' angle. Might as well report that I can't confirm the nerve agent's from Russia. It's not my job and I'm not expected to know or try to find out.

The only thing wrong with that tweet is that it should say ‘only known to have previously been produced in russia’

What's most irritating for me is that Johnson won't be held to account for this, he'll just laugh it off or make some off-colour joke and wave his hands around and people will forget.

The man is an absolute joke and if he ever became PM I'd move to France.

Monumental strawberry float up from Boris. If gifting the Iranians a hostage wasn't bad enough, potentially blowing the west's hand against a resurgent Russia should be enough to get sacked.

Sadly he is unsackable. If he was sacked over this our allies could see it as an admission of error.

However I will say Corbyn was again absolutely correct in his response that this needs an international investigation to obtain the facts before the finger is pointed to avoid exactly this situation.

Thing I don't understand is why is Boris seemingly unsackable when his chance to be Prime Minister is gone? I understand wanting to keep him in check but still...

I actually think the declawing of Boris as a credible leader is one of Mays few achievements.

You can also thank Michael Gove for halting Boris' leadership plans.

We don't thank Michael Gove for anything. He's just as awful.

Russian spy poisoning: Sergei Skripal 'improving rapidly'

Russian former spy Sergei Skripal is no longer in a critical condition after being poisoned by a nerve agent, doctors have said.

Salisbury District Hospital said Mr Skripal is responding well to treatment and "improving rapidly".

Mr Skripal, 66, and his daughter Yulia, 33, have been in hospital for more than a month after being found unconscious on a bench in Salisbury.

They had been poisoned with a toxic nerve agent called Novichok.

Ms Skripal is conscious and talking in hospital.

Just in case there was any doubt the Leave campaign was assisted by Russia.
