Seems you can play this without an invite by just downloading the game from the App Store (it's available for everyone) and logging in with your PSN account

Controls as badly as you'd expect it to. It's quite impressive for what it is though.

It's pretty good for a mobile game in terms of technical achievement and visuals. However actually being able to challenge other plays feels unsurprisingly near impossible. So I don't see the point of even playing it on mobile unless you just want to show of a cool 3D game on your phone to some friends or just to kill some time perhaps. My main gripe with mobile smartphone games is having your thumbs taking up the screen. I see this being much more suited for the switch portable. Think it would be perfect. Mobile fortnite seems like they did it just for the sake of saying it's possible. It doesn't work if you actually want to challenge console or pc players.

Got my first victory royale today yeeeeeeeeh boi
Spent a fair while alone at Snobby Shores looting literally everything because the only other guy that dropped there was too slow with his shotgun and I SMGed him in the face, then went to find my squad, killed a couple on the way to them, met up and butchered another two squads. Ended slightly anticlimactically since I was sat on a hill pressuring the last three with sniper/assault rifle fire and then my squad mates flanked them and took them down. Felt good tho, they were definitely preoccupied with keeping their cover up when I kept destroying it so hopefully the distraction helped us.

Shotguns are already overpowered these are just going to be instant kill weapons and if they don't get super wayward while jumping will just make the jumping shotguners even more frustrating.

Totally agree. I think shotguns are already the META in this game, there is no need for a better one. I'm not good at the shotgun game in this and it frustrates me that this often means I can't compete. In most games shotguns are a very high damage close range option and in most games that's fine; they offer a good balance between risk and reward. The problem in this game is that it is far too easy to close the gap on a player without getting shot, if you have any building ability. Once you've closed that gap the shotgun player will win every time. I always play as a mid range specialist in online shooters, so this is proving a challenge, I've tried to get better, but people seem to be so good at the jumpy shotgun game now that I get one shotted before I even have a chance to practice. I like this game a lot, but this META is putting me of it rapidly. Honestly, I can't see them changing this as so many of the big twitch players use shotguns to devastating effect. My solution would be to reduce the range on these guns, so you have to be right up in someone's face to make them an effective option; I've been killed by a pump from a fairly considerable range. Instead they have put in a legendary shotgun with greater range...... :(

They need to change the range of the shotguns so that only pretty much point blank is effective.
I've had plenty of occasions where I have a purple scar and I'm pumping them full of lead and a few hits only to be one shot by a shotgun.

I actually don't mind being one shot by a sniper from miles away as it's normally because I'm stood still healing or using a shield potion or it's just someone who's managed to pull of a great shot which is fair enough as my own tries with sniping show it isn't easy.
I think they may need to introduce a mode that does away with shotguns altogether as it would just make the game so much more tactical and fun.

Agree about the shotgun problems but I've not been finding it too bad.

The pump action shottys are more powerful than the auto ones, personally I don't find them too bad.

Just odd that a base shotgun is better than a blue auto shotgun.

I know this, it's just that my close range game ain't great and as it's so easy to force a close range situation I think shotties in general are over powered. I try to get better with them, but it's tough when dealing with the numerous shotgun spammers. Everyone is in the same boat I realise and it is my issue with using shotguns, but most online games allow for different play styles and a better balance in the weapons.

What they should really do is massively penalise accuracy during and slightly after jumping.

I could see that happening, whereas I don't think they'd ever want to nerf building by slowing it down to discourage mid-fight construction. I'd really want both to go back to the game.

A thousand time this.
I know it's a game but we don't see real soldiers jumping about the battlefield like a Mario on crack and it's just completely stupid to see people doing so in this.

And before the usual crowd pip in with "Git Gud noob!" strawberry float YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

This is the true answer. There’s nothing wrong with the shotguns, you have to accept you need to get better with them but the jumping, my god the jumping. This would be an ideal solution.
