Patch v6.00 is dropping in tomorrow, September 27! Downtime begins at 4 AM ET (0800 GMT).

Reminder, progressive Outfits from Season 5 can be leveled up in all future seasons once you've unlocked them in the Battle Pass!

For players who created an extra account to play Fortnite on multiple console platforms, we’re working on two things:

1) An account-merging feature to combine Battle Royale purchases, coming in November.

2) Enabling unlinking a console from one Fortnite account, and relinking to another Fortnite account. Coming in a few days.

GET FUNKY,

Bust-a-move in the new Limited Time Mode in Battle Royale and clear waves of enemies with a returning weapon in Save the World.

Disco Domination (Battle Royale)
Break out your best moves and take control of the dance floor in this new Limited Time Mode.

Image

Quad Rocket Launcher (Battle Royale)
Fire rockets in quick succession towards enemies with this new weapon to earn an explosive Victory Royale!

GENERAL

PERFORMANCE

We addressed a disk performance issue on Xbox One which was causing buildings and cosmetics to load in slowly. This will also reduce load times.
Please note: This fix will result in a larger patch download than usual (around 10GB).

BATTLE ROYALE

LIMITED TIME MODE: DISCO DOMINATION

Summary

It's time for the ultimate dance-off. Dance Floors have spawned around the Battle Royale island. Take them over by clearing out any enemies and then dancing to raise a disco ball up from the floor. The team that fills their meter the fastest by capturing and defending the dance floors will win the match!

Mode Details

Two teams of fifty players.
Respawning will be turned on until the third (last) storm circle.
Five dance floors will appear on the map whenever the storm is not moving.
Emoting on a dance floor when no enemies are present will raise a disco ball in the center of the floor, and capture it for your team.
The more friendly players dancing on a floor, the faster it will be captured.
Once a floor is captured, it will begin filling the team’s “dance bar” on the HUD, until either an enemy stands on it or the current storm timer ends and the storm begins to move. The first team to fill their dance bar to 100% will win the match.
The dance floors in the later stages of the match fill the bar more quickly, so don't give up if your team is behind!
It is not possible to build on or over the dance floors, but they can be protected by surrounding them with a fort.
Glider redeploy is activated in this mode, press jump while falling to use your glider.
This mode uses 50v50 levels of loot and resources.

WEAPONS + ITEMS

Quad Launcher
Fire up to four lobbed rockets in quick succession.
Available in Epic and Legendary variants.
80/84 base damage per rocket.
300 unit explosion radius.

Fixed an issue that caused moving circles to be closer to the previous safezone than intended.

Fixed some hitches on Switch caused by blocking loads of UI data.

Due to lack of interest I won't be updating the thread on a weekly basis from now on but will do so for special events such as new seasons etc.

I think things have gone a bit off the boil since season 4. S5 didn’t seem to have much of an arc to it and the weekly challenges started to become a bit too much of a slog to casually do during a free morning or afternoon. Having some big hitter releases probably hasn’t helped my interest in it either. I did get the S6 season pass with V bucks earned during S5 but some shady practices from Epic has also left a bit of a sour taste in the mouth. A big event like the rocket launch or a cross over could probably get me back in (the floating islands doesn’t do anything for me really) but with a few major releases coming up this might just slip off the playlist altogether.

2 major things this week, the 1st ever PvE and the glider re-deploy is in all modes for a week -

BATTLE ROYALE

During Fortnitemares, you’ll face off against Cube Monsters in a whole new way of playing Battle Royale. There are new weapons to fight back against these creepy creatures, like the Six Shooter and Fiend Hunter Crossbow. Take out the Cube Fiends and Fragments to pick up loot, and survive against enemy players.

Glider Re-Deploy (Battle Royale)

Glider Redeploy is currently available in all game modes! Help us test this feature and fly high above the competition.

I like the sound of these AI controlled fiends being thrown into the mix and re-deployable gliders are something I've wished were active across all game modes for a while. Might check it out as soon as tonight.

I don't mind the glider for jumping off a cliff but no fall damage for shooting people down and the fear of people constantly building high ramps is off-putting. Sounds like the reception has been negative to it so might not last past the week.

Yeah, the re-deploy glider is fine in 50v50, just not standard.

Spent a good couple of hours with 'Fornitemares' tonight. I'm mostly digging the change in atmosphere; a thin layer of fog looms over the map at all times; the battle bus, decked out in candles, sails past a full moon (at least at night) toward a much more emphasised floating island, fractured by the omnipresent purple cube.

The 'cube monsters' are honestly a fun addition. They seem to spawn continuously around these purple shards and ultimately add a different dynamic to how you encounter/approach other players - I managed to get the high ground over Tilted Towers late-game and the place looked overrun by them, so I managed to pick off an individual forced to split from their squad, who were being backed into a nearby building.
