Had a go at a squads game earlier :dread: Spent 90% of the time looking for guns, and 10% being shot at by groups camping in buildings.

People like this? :shifty:

Much like Sea of Thieves there's no real obvious explanations of what to do. It just throws you in at the deep end so unless you've got someone who's already played it in your party, you're at an instant disadvantage. Is the lobby bit before the bus just for people to emote at each other while it gets everyone into the game?

It's... quite dull. I'm not sure it'll become a fixture in our game nights. Maybe it'll be a bit better when it's not in... beta?

For me the only time the game is fun is in a group.
In solo mode I just can't be bothered and end up just chopping down trees to build a ramp to the top of the map just to see how much of the top of the world I can cover before someone notices and destroys my ramp and kills me. I think I have maybe a K/D ratio of 1 kill every 5 games in solo :fp: .

Kill people and don't get killed

It might take you some time to get used to the controls (especially for building), learn the weapons, and learn the map, but I don't see how any of that is badly designed or could be improved by tutorialising.

Also remember that the battle royale mode is not the "main" game mode.

They could have easily done a bit of an explanation on how and why to build things (also, I found a vending machine I could store materials in - why?)

It suffers from exactly the same problem every other multiplayer shooter has. It throws you in with no real advice against people who know exactly what they're doing. Getting repeatedly slaughtered for your first however many games isn't fun. It didn't seem interesting enough for me to *want* to git gud at it, either.

You buy stuff from the vending machines. I agree with you and although it's not an excuse for the game not having a tutorial, 10 minutes on YouTube will get you all the information you need

You are having a similar experience to me, you've joint late and play with mainly people who have been playing it for ages. As I said, it desperately needs to match players based on experience otherwise new players don't want to get involved. I want to play the game, try out the different weapons, learn about building etc without people who know what they are doing picking me off easily. I think I've played this 20 times and in all those games got 1 kill, which I think was someone else new to the game which has probably put them off too.

Yes?

It didn’t start that way but BR is the main mode now, by some margin.

I think the pve mode is still essentially considered the main game. It's just less of the focus from the dev team and not the more popular one for players, obviously.

What systems do people play this on because if anyone wishes to play some games I'm more than keen. I'm kind of low skilled I suppose but more unlucky than anything. I know how to play the game in general. When season 4 kicks off I'll be all over this.

Strange tweet. Probably something to do with Season 4 and/or Tilted Tower getting destroyed by a comet/aliens.

Rumors on Season 4 -

The meteor will be hitting Dusty Depot, and NOT Tilted Towers as so many believe. Epic has thought this area of the map has needed an update for a long time.

The map will always be evolving. The map will be updated WEEKLY in Season 4. Epic feels like they had a wasted opportunity with Tilted Towers going up all at once. They would rather have had bulldozers & a few raising cranes one week, then one building go up the next week, two buildings the following week, etc.

Moisty Mire will be gone by the end of Season 4.

The Season 4 Battle Pass is all Supehero-themed. There will be superhero skins and villain skins (at least 2 of each). They aren’t from Marvel or DC, just Epic’s own characters.

Not Moisty Mire  .

It's pretty much the only time you can use the word moist in casual conversation and it not seem creepy.
I think perhaps Trump should change his slogan from Make America Great Again to Make Moist Great Again.
