Which cars are you planning to buy?

Do downloaded tunes from F5 carry over?

I haven't bought any cars - the rain of vip, pre-order, 10th anniversary and F&F cars is more than enough. Did a few races and tried some painting, knowing that getting on the store first means more people see/download your stuff therefore even more money.

I used some of the wedge of welcome-back money to buy some mod packs, got the one that gives you more money for using in-car and no race line, which is what I do anyway so may as well get paid more to do it.

I kind of regret buying FM5 a few months ago as it is now totally redundant - I may go back to it from time to time.

Couldn't tell you about the tunes as it's not something I tend to tinker with.

Car wide been using a Fiesta ST for first few races, got my eyes on the XR2 next though!

"Digital Foundry vs Forza Motorsport 6. The drive of your life?" -

It's a cliché, but there is very definitely the sense that Forza Motorsport 6 is the game its predecessor should have been - the key issue users had with the last release concerned the tangible downgrade in the amount of cars and the number of tracks. Turn 10 did well in expanding the game post-launch, but it's only with the sequel that we get a similar kind of comprehensiveness that we saw in Forza 4 - and for many, that is enough to warrant a purchase.

But from a technological perspective, there's something else here that impresses us - namely, a level of ambition and polish indicative of the confidence that comes from an accomplished developer now firmly at home with the Xbox One platform. Some of the enhancements are genuinely spectacular - like the new Rio track - while others are gambles that may not completely pay off, such as the 24-car multiplayer.

But going forward, we've been wondering: where does Turn 10 go from here? The developer seems to be pushing for the features that the fanbase wants, but in the case of variable weather and night-time driving, we could well need a fundamental shift in the underlying technology to get that absolutely right. It's hard to imagine that features like this - along with a truly next-gen damage model - could be accommodated within the existing engine, without some level of performance compromise: and that's exactly what we get in competing titles like Project Cars. We can't wait to see where Turn 10 chooses to go next, but we suspect that another jump in the volume of content alone isn't going to cut it.

This is still pretty good; looks great, runs great. Not much more to say really. My only gripe is that i find it hard to see the performance restrictions for a particular race; on FM4 you could just bring up a screen showing it all, but this seems more reluctant to tell you.

Still on the fence about mods, on the one hand i got a rare team mod from a wheelspin which means i blitz most races, so i put up the drivatar difficulty, so more challenge and more money.

There is an interview with Dan Greenwalt as part of their massive launch stream you can go back and watch on the forza twitch channel where he explains how the drivatars work which is really interesting.

Does anyone know any high street prices for this tomorrow?

Will the highstreet retail version be the 10 year anniversary?

I think all new copies will be the 10 year anniversary version with the team forza cars.

Ive bought the Lotus F1 car, but I cant use it until i get further into the game.
There doesnt seem to be any car infront/ car behind timing checkpoints.
There also isnt a last lap/ best lap / current lap timer.

But other than that Its an OK game.

Played some more of this. It is less grippy than Forza 5. The menu is still clumsy with things like filters resetting every time, should have been ironed out since F5. This along with my gripes above lead me to beleive T10 were a bit lazy when it came to the front end of this. Its not polished like F2,3,4.

I dont like the fact that the career mode is far too drawn out. To use my Lotus in career, I will have to go through 4 leagues, each with 3 sections consisting of 3,4,6 ish = 160 races. Although i think i can use it straight away in the challenges.

The first career tracks are ok. Shorter variations of previous games, but a few more laps, 6ish minute races. I would really like some track DLC, its a shame Mugello and Suzuka arent there.

I'm loving this. First real racing game that's gripped me (excuse pun) to find just the right line in races. Like that you can beat rivals times and the AI has been brilliant a sever with race leaders spinning out.

I picked this up yesterday and must say I'm very impressed. I've bought all of the core Forza games apart from 5 but hadn't really got into any properly since Forza 2 back in 2007. Planning to stick with this one. I did my first showcase event in the Indycar at Indianapolis after twenty minutes driving a Ford Capri and the speed difference is ridiculous  .

I think the drivatars need some rebalancing; i often find myself absolutely smoking all of them except the one in first, who disappears off into the distance never to be seen again.

Also there seem to be fewer campaign races, unless they really open up later on; i hope i'll be able to do the series 1 events in all the car groups, for example.

On the plus side my awesome liveries and vinyl groups are getting a small but steady trickle of cash on the side.

The online seems to be fine, a couple of people timed out I presume (didnt move from start) and a few rage quitted but it was still brilliant fun in the league games:

I might have to check out the group I used to do casual race nights with on FM4 is still going in 6, because I tried public lobbies for a while in 4 and found it to be a hellish experience - half the group would disappear into the distance and the other would spend all their time taking me out on purpose like the colossal fuckshits they were. I'll stick with the drivatards unless leagues are actually good.

EDIT: I'll take some pics of my car designs soon and get them up, wish you could just copy photo files off through usb rather than going through the upload bullshit :fp:
