You don't drive Supercars across fields (in the main career mode) the car you choose determines the races you get. Supercars would get mostly tarmac circuits and P2Ps, maybe a little bit of dirt routes, but none of the cutting through fields stuff.

Really. Nothing looks substandard next to DriveClub, certainly not this.

Exactly, generally off road vehicles are consigned to off road races and super cars are on streets/courses. It possible to mix it all up but that's kinda like criticism for the game giving you the option. Also, Forza Horizon 2 is Gorgeous, people seem to gloss over this fact.

I play this every other day and it is so beautiful doing 200mph on a long stretch.

9/10 from Eurogamer for Storm Island -

This is an excellent expansion, then, one that complements the main game while gracefully underlining what exactly it was that made that Forza Horizon 2 so enticing in the first place. The price-tag may seem as steep as one of Storm Island's vertiginous jumps, but if you had any fun with Horizon 2 whatsoever, go with it - it'll send you soaring into another worthwhile playground stuffed with little delights.

I have been playing this a lot more recently and it's a pretty good game.

However, the online mode has some serious flaws that will stop me playing it long term:

1) No way to avoid doing the awful off road races
2) No way to avoid doing the gimmick events like "Virus" and "King"

Also it's pretty annoying that you can't stop it from doing night races, which are always less fun than day races.

Ive progressed through this more now.

I opened up the first car meet, tried an online game where there were 3 other people and it seemed like the start was staggered, i started 2nd (my car was the 3rd best stat wise). I caught upto the 1st place guy who tried to run me off the road, passed him then drove for about 30s to the finish un opposed. I think i got luck with my first and only attempt a the online races.

I also opened up the club - i didnt know grcade had that many members.

Also in the events that im entering, are all the opponents fellow club members drivatars? I only really recognize 1 or 2 per event. And they always seem to finish quite low down.

Picked this up on 360 from CEX today for £20. Quite enjoying it so far, although the annoying "dude bro" voice over and DJs grate somewhat. Had to switch the latter off as it kept putting me off. Other than that though FH2 ain't too shabby.

My xbl's Treliz (with one L) if you want some mediocre rivals times. I don't think anyone else has the 360 version which, to be fair, is understandable.

Cheers for the offer guv, but I don't subscribe to Gold any more.

Haven't played the X1 version so cant draw a comparison, but I'm beginning to really enjoy it on 360. Good game to just sit back and chill with.

I'm not sure that rivals times, speed traps etc require gold, but i could be wrong.

The 360 version is ok as long as you never look at the bone version. I wish they hadn't opened the map up to match the new-gen version though and kept it like Horizon 1; largely limited to roads with a few dirt trails and a couple of grass areas. The big open areas are totally barren empty and serve no purpose; there are no proper offroad races as i guess they knew those bits look like arse.

On the other hand its nice to have a game from 2014 not have season passes, special editions etc and be complete out of the gate, however Sumo don't seem to acknowledge that they were the team who it was farmed out to to make.

Also no classical music station :(

I'll have a look then to see if Gold is required or not.

You're right about it being barren, but it's quite a good laugh off roading and dicking about.

Forza Horizon 2 on X1 is gorgeous lads you really should make the leap and join the 'ridiculously' large Grcade Car Club.

Yeah all you need to do is pay the extra £300 odd quids for the new console and you can join the GR car club which is positively 'buzzing' with activity.

Mate, I bought a PS4 4 months ago, (which I rarely use), and spent a large sum of cash on a PC just two months ago. I'm not about to go and buy an Xbox One.

£300 + all the gouging DLC + Xbox live is too rich for my blood. Plus Forza is the only xbone-exclusive IP that i'm even remotely interested in. Plus I still have Forza 4, Horizon 1 as well as Horizon 2 on 360, so i'm not lacking stuff to do when it comes to playing with cars.

While I think the 360 version is the best outcome - Sumo got the same assets, environment and some of the same cars but essentially made their own game underneath - there are some things that bother me. Mainly how some features from H1 have been removed entirely. You don't get the wheelspin thing on levelling up, you can't tune cars beyond adding parts to them, and you'd think it'd be easy to get all the cars from Horizon 1 that aren't in it already as DLC.

On the other hand, it does have some cars that aren't in the 'bone version (yet), and you can import vinyl groups from Horizon 1 which works most of the time. I am enjoying it overall; it's nice to play an open world racer that isn't about evading the cops and gooseberry fool but just zooming about having fun.

I dont understand why people get THAT annoyed by DLC, you dont HAVE to buy it and Forza Horizon 2 has more than enough stuff to keep you occupied without the DLC, having said that, Storm Island is amazing. :datass:
