Even the Nordschleife isn't really tempting me back to this, suppose if I get chance to get the wheel out at the weekend, I might move this back to the internal storage and give it a few laps, unless they've sorted the inherent handling characteristics I doubt I'll do many laps.

Even for a sim-lite, the handling is just really, really poor, who thought this was even a fun physics engine to create? It's been so long since I've been this disappointed with a game.

I'm not a huge car sim fan but I LOVED playing Forza, itching to go back to it. The reddit and general consensus doesn't seem that down on it, at least on cursory glance and I've seen an actual race driver youtube vid saying, it's pretty accurate.

It's not iracing of course but on pad, it's pretty good. I've never enjoyed racing online as much as in this game, I wouldn't be finishing in the top 3 really but I've been bumped up to third because other racers were punished post race. I don't know what over or under steer even is.

If you've loved it, then I'm glad you've found some fun with it! Coming from mainly dipping in and out of ACC over the last couple of years, Forza just isn't a patch on the underlying physics in that, even driving GT3 cars in both games, I'd not have had a problem with it, if they weren't saying how detailed their new physics engine was, how many times it refreshes per second and so on, nearly all the way from the first proper look at it, till release.

Understeer is typically induced when you try to take too much speed into a corner, the front tyres physically don't have the grip to deal with what you're asking of them due to the excessive speed. Similar for oversteer, the driver is asking too much of the rear tyres under acceleration (easier to see/feel under heavy acceleration) which leads to them slipping and the rear kicking out somewhat, needing the driver to counter steer to try and correct the movement of the rear axle. The snaps can happen, but not really under the conditions I've encountered them under in Forza. Driving a car with plenty of rear downforce, the rear should be planted, not constantly kicking out mid corner when you're full throttle.

I've yet to try it on a pad, so no idea if the pad controls solve some of the issues that seem baked in on a wheel. I just think how great this game could have been....

It’s poor for me. It might be ok on a pad. But the out of the box wheel settings are bad. Needs loads of tweaks. Then the online can be fun but the penalty system and lobbies are so bad. The amount of murders is shocking.

I’m fully into ACC LFM and have no desire to go back to this. Game is dead on PC. It’s a real shame.

I think VR might have scuppered my ability to do first person racing without it. Got my Mini out on the Nordschliefe on test run and just seemed to be doing so terrible. Swapped it to third person and was a minute faster. Ah, well. Was a fun run of the track in both viewpoints.

I went for the McLaren M8B instead of the Lola on offer in the prototype group racing tournament for this week. For a car with such a prominent rear wing, the back end wants to step out alot at every opportunity.
