They seem to lock them out for a bit (until level or upgrades?). But then they shouldn’t be throwing those races at you.

Little things like that do throw you out of it a little immersion wise, luckily it dried up on the last lap enough so I passed a handful of cars on that lap alone, but I did give myself a fighting chance by starting 8th, still got on the podium too.

Edit, I think a lot of the problems with the Supra are the street tyres I’m locked into anyway, they’re just not grippy enough, exiting the turn 9 hairpin and last chicane at Suzuka in 3, not full throttle and still getting wheel spin :fp:

Edit 2, think I’ve finally unlocked slick tyres for the Supra, think I’ll have to respec my car and to for those asap.

Here's an in-depth guide for adjusting your wheel in Forza Motorsport! This should cover just about every wheel setup and has drastically improved the feedback feel for G920s all the way up to Moza R21s!

Vibration Scale: 60
Force Feedback Scale: 100
Steering Self-Alignment: 100
Mechanical Trail Scale: 90
Pneumatic Trail Scale: 120
Road Feel Scale: 130
Load Sensitivity: 90
Wheel Damping Scale: 15
Center Spring Scale: 10
Dynamic Damper Behaviour: 85
Steering Sensitivity: 50
Steering Linearity: 50

Monkeyman, I’ve had a go with these settings this morning and they are beyond incredible. Thank you.

The game is transformed from the out the box settings. I’ve had a lot of fun with a range of classes this morning.

The P cars are nutty. I feel like I am holding on for dear life, but that’s good. Had far more control and dealing with understeer in the lower classes. He made a lot of sense, if you were feeling that you had no front end grip but when you turned the wheel it still gripped and turned, then you need to adjust the mechanical trail scale.

A lot of life this in this game. Well done MS and turn 10, base is solid. Needs to develop some minor issues and quality of life issues but there is time for that.

My god I'm so bad. Just been doing laps of Spa in a Golf R, and at first I couldn't even get around a lap without blowing up my drivetrain (It doesn't seem to recognise the shifter on my G923 either). This is after already coming out of the first even it wants you to do in campaign as I was spinning my Mustang twice every lap.

I might have to bring out my gangsta ironing board steering wheel stand for this by the looks of it :datass:

I’ll take a note of my current settings and then try the above ones, hope to get a little more time into this over the next couple of days.

How does online work? Do you join a spec series and run a rental car or do you need to buy them? I assume the latter, but then I need to decide a couple of cars to focus on to start with.

I’ve not tried online. But in rivals I wanted to try a p class car and I didn’t have one. You can rent one for no in game credits but you don’t acrue xp. So I just bought one for 400k, 1/2 what I had at the time. I’m expecting it to throw cars and xp at you when I pump some hours into the career.

No idea what P class cars are as of yet…. Upgraded to the race tyres on the Supra, a world of difference! Back to no TC and you can get the rear out but it’s manageable, will finish this cup off and then try the other settings, don’t want to mess with my little rhythm I’ve got going

Turn 10 seem to have got thier numbers mixed up in rivals when quoting percentiles. In the 2024 coervette e-ray maple valley featured rival im position 2550/8846. But its put me in the top 71% rahther than 29%

Tried these, first impressions are very good, will need to do a few back to backs with what I was using to really compare, but think this might be better for the G923 at least, might up the wheel damming scale a little first.

This is a very relaxing game just to choose a car and go for a test drive in, currently levelling up my Civic Type R by lapping Silverstone.

I have seen a slightly odd thing about the levelling system though, in that apparently it’s literally tied to that one car, I could get this Type R to level 50 but then if I bought a second one, that would be back to level 1, not a problem exactly but feels a odd that I’d not be able to buy a car and spec it differently.

Edit, Type R at max level, of course I’ve now swapped it to AWD now I’ve got the option, had to run the restriction plate to try and limit the understeer of an overpowered FWD car, even on soft race tyres. Can carry on with the builders cup now, up to Super Sedans.

The car levelling system is very poor. Yes leave car points behind levelling, but the upgrades should all be open from the start. Should be i have to save up points to upgrade lots of things, but if i want i should be able to upgrade say to the AWD straight away - yes i might have to level up to save up enough points, but that would be a better system. I really hope they patch this out.

The other stupid thing about this is whilst levelling you get used the stock car, then you level up and have to alter your driving style to get used to a slightly upgraded car, etc.

Ive started doing the AFK car levelling trick becasue im to old to grind for car points. (Turn 10 should also be shot for using this acronym too)

What’s the AFK method?

I do agree that’d be a better system, you have to wait far too long to get access to slick tyres for example.

Set up a race on Le Mans Mulsanne circuit (the one without the chicaines), lots of laps (about one per car level, it runs a lap every 3-4 minutes ish), no AI, change all the assissts to auto (including throttle). Then the game plays itself, you do have to tap the accelerate button every so often to prevent it auto pausing. Set that up then watch netflix with the odd acc tap, Come back an hour later and youve got 20car levels and about 100,000 cr. Im sure theyll patch that out before they patch some useful QOL in.

Neat, might have to try that then.

Well, no chance I'm playing this on cloud with how bad the intro cutscene ran. Looks like I'll have to wait for it to install when I get to my games later on.

Definitely interested in giving this a go, the Horizon games have never clicked with me because the actual racing just seems so throwaway so I'm hoping this gives me something more to get my teeth into!
