I'd rather be a very lax christian country than any of the other religions if I'm honest. The "laws" of Christianity in most cases are somewhat common sense so they don't ever really interfere with our legal system as much as other religions would.

In a perfect world we wouldn't even have the Church of England and the house of lords wouldn't exist anymore. While we're stuck with it I guess it could be worse. Until someone with some balls and money gets into power nothing is going to change as the people who have the power to change it benefit from how it is now too much.

It's why FPTP won't be going anywhere for a very long time. The people in the two/three main parties only really get such an overwhelming majority of seats because of it. Yeah they offered us the AV vote, but they then pumped in millions of pounds into an anti AV campaign which pretty much guaranteed that AV was never going to happen. Kind of similar to the Scottish Independance vote.

I'd rather no religions in all honesty as they just divide a lot of people and cause arguments and fighting. Whenever you have religion you will have extremists within that religion and people who just want to pressurise that religion onto others and so causes friction and problems. I have never understood what positives there are in being overly religious other than needing to have a rule book/guidance or something so that you think you have a meaning to your life. Anyway not really the thread for this debate but i'm sure some of you would agree with me.

It's a strange utopia you live in, I mean, i think the majority of us would be happy with no religions but they are here and to introduce a religious ban in the western world would lead to World War 3 pretty sharpish.

Why exactly do you have a Queen in this day and Age? She has no power as such...so is it just for American Tourists?

Basically yes. I remember reading that the Royal Family bring in more money than they take out, so nobody who matters really cares about abolishing the monarchy.

Personally I couldn't give any less of a strawberry float what happens to them.

From what I remember from some very hasty research for a rubbish essay most of the uk is non-practicing or not christian but a majority of the population "believe there is something out there" or some such wording

Wikipedia pegs it as just over 50% of the UK (excluding Ireland) as having no religion.

lol that's more extreme from you, i don't want a religion ban. I'd rather people just realise what a pile of gooseberry fool they are and just not follow a religion. I know of course that will never happen as religion is forced upon many people at a young age so it's ingrained in them and others find religion as they have no other hopes or thoughts of their own.So for now i would prefer that if people are religious then hey keep it to yourself, don't force it upon others and don't argue with someone if they don't agree(because someone will always not agree) Religion just causes far to much hassle and there will always be extremists in each religion.
